The Restaurant has a spacious dining hall, a smaller room, which can be separated, and a terrace, all overlooking the beautiful valley of the river Jagst. Menu and wine list are plentiful and the food is good. It's worth a visit, even for just enjoying the great view.

Klasse. Das Restaurant Steigenhaus kann ich nur empfehlen!
A small, cosy, family-run restaurant. The menu is short, the food is great, and everyone who serves tables makes it their job to see that your meal is enjoyed.Someone told me that "everything on the plate can be eaten", including small flowers from the country garden across the street. In the summer try a meal on the terrace behind the restaurant. On special occasions there are small intimate concerts by world musicians, and often there is a Jazz meeting on Sunday mornings in the summer months. It's well hidden, and that helps to make it a real gem. You can't go wrong here.Open on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. Call for reservations to avoid disappointment.

This is a very nice example of modern slow cooking where the Chef focuses on bringing the flavors out of locally sourced foods. The menu changes every day depending on whatâs fresh and available. I had a steak one night, perfectly prepared. Bratwurst on another day served with potatoes. The sorbet flavors served both nights were different and included mint, mango, and rhubarb.Service was fast and friendly. The menus are printed daily, In German only, but the staff can help translate if needed.Well worth a visit if you what to try good slow cooking.

My meal at this restaurant was excellent in every way. Menus in English or German. Helpful, attentive and friendly staff. Excellent food, superbly presented. I had the 65 Euro 3 course menu - worth every pfennig. The mens' washroom was clean as an operating room and featured cotton hand towels.

This was our second visit to Entenback and hopefully won't be our last. We were served, as before, by the owner/manager who's English is excellent and he even understands our sense of humour. I had a dish translated as three various steaks. They were beef, veal and lamb. All were perfectly cooked and amongst the most tender pieces of meat I have ever had. The local white wine he recommended was also excellent

Rooms basic and comfortable though it was quite hot and as I was in a roof room with roof windows, it was very hot at night. No aircon. Wifi was ok when it worked though this may have been due to 25 people all trying to connect. But it was hired for a meeting. Most rooms in buildings not connected to main hotel. Food consistent and good quality but very predictable. Same kind of thing day after day. Staff efficient but I think they had had enough of a business group eating and drinking by end of week. What is it with German hotels where they give a single occupant a single duvet, even on a double bed. I'm a fidgety sleeper and the duvet kept falling off. It seemed a bit mean spirited being charge a couple of hours extra as (by arrangement) when I left my cases in room until after lunch. When you consider that 25 people had stayed 5 nights with food and drink all taken at the hotel. Needs to be taking into consideration that the area was devastated by floods only 6 weeks earlier and recover process was apparent as you walked around.

When we want to enjoy good, local, Schwäbisch food which we know will be cooked and served well, we head for the excellent hotel in the centre of the pretty village of Braunsbach. Its especially lovely in summer as a stopping point along the Kocher cycle way (highly recommended by the way) to sit in the centrally located beer garden and enjoy the convivial atmosphere and wonderful menu specials. The service is always friendly and welcoming, we have even considered buying a house in this village because we love the neighbourly spirit and good eating places here :)
