Zum Ochsen is a quaint and traditional German Gasthof. The prices are moderate, and the rooms are adequately decorated and modest in size. They have free wifi and parking (in the rear). It certainly was a pleasant enough stay, although we were a bit disappointed in the breakfast. 4/5 Stars.

This small, cosy restaurant never falls short of my expectations: the meat is always extraordinary tasty and tender and they serve the best zwiebelrostbraten I've ever eaten in my life! Good work guys, keep it up!
Food and service was great. Real spicy papaya salad. I will come back next time for lunch or diner. Many different Thai food selection.
Located in a forest with a view over the Kraichgau area, this is the spot to go in summer and winter for good Hausmannskost (Schnitzel, Maultaschen, Hähnchen chicken - only on saturdays). No service on Mondays. Open terrace with self service. Service personell very friendly. Food good at a fair price. I go there whenever I can.
We are the comfortable restaurant in the middle of Brackenheim with well german kitchen and Distelhauser beers freshly from the barrel.

My German friends brought me here during my stay. We visited on Mother's Day and it was very busy. Parking was difficult but we parked in the overspill car park and walked up. We got a table straight away, unfortunately not near the edge with the great views of the Neckar valley. It made sense to share the table with others because it was so busy. The queue was managed efficiently and the food prepared quickly. Considering the quantities being prepared, the traditional food was very good. This is a lovely place in the woods and worth a visit.

We spent two lovely nights here while visiting Tripsdrill. The restaurant is a must try. The food is probably German food at its best with excellent regional wine selection. The room for our family of four is very spacious with a lovely balcony. The price is even more commendable. You will leave with a happy smile on your face. It is a mere 5 min drive from Tripsdrill.

This is located immediately next to reception in Best Western Kastell hotel. The receipt shows Best Western. But it's independent. Cash or card. No charging to room. Friendly, efficient staff. Fairly obvious they'd rather be socialising with their friends, many of whom seem to be hanging around in Juls Bar, wandering in and out of the sliding door, presumably to smoke, drafty every time they open it. Lots of hugging and whooping and noise. Not sure if they work at the hotel or bar but it was all very familiar and to be honest I felt I was intruding by asking for a beer. The food was strange but it does say Steak in the title. Steak, steak, steak or steak or burger. No fish. No pizza. A veggie burger option. Steak well cooked. A bit rare for medium but good. Small salad and kraut. Decent food and not bad price for a hotel. But then, it's not part of the hotel. Or is it. It's a bar, and restaurant. There's a cat. It's in behind the bar. It's in between the tables. Don't say aaah, a cute cat. I'm indifferent to cats but I don't want one under my chair and wandering behind the bar. It's not hygienic. Pic attached. Would put me off staying at this hotel.
