We chose a nice bike ride to reach this restaurant on a rather hot summer day. I was impressed with the old architecture of the building. The old mill itself still works via a water canal and they have pictured this beautifully inside the restaurant with a window overlooking this. There are many rooms inside the restaurant with lots of space and nicely decorated. In terms of atmosphere, it is one of the nicest and warmest restaurants I have experienced in Germany.We ate outdoors and had light meals due to the heat but my fish dish (herring) was nicely done with great flavours. The service was very friendly and they seemed to check in from time to time to see that you were content.I can see eating here during summer days or inside during the winter in the nice warm atmosphere. I look forward to trying more dishes and bringing guests from overseas here.

Had a business dinner here after a business trip. Very attentive service and accommodated a large group arriving at different times. Large menu selection, no english version but it was still fairly easy to work it out - especially as I had several german speakers with me.Food was very tasty and good portion sizes, enjoyed the local beer. Prices were very reasonable.Would go again if I am back in Herborn.

I dined twice at this restaurant, having been taken there by German friends who live locally. The restaurant is actually in the village of Bellersdorf, part of Mittenaar. The ambnience of the place is excellent and the service prompt and efficient. What sets Gasthof Decker apart, however, is the quality of the food, in ingredients, cooking and presentation: all three are top-class. I first attended on a Friday, which is Fish Day. The place was full of locals: my friend and I had a fine soup, salad, fish of the highest quality, and a dessert. We also had a beer each. The total bill for the two of us was 25 euros. It was worth a lot more.On a Sunday, we went for lunch. Once again the place was packed with locals, and this time we were a party of six. We had soup, a main, and dessert, and a beer each, and the total bill was about 90 euros. There was a choice of eleven mains, and I had Wildschweinbraten mit frischem Steinpilzrahm Kartoffelklosse, Apfelrotkohl, which was excellent. My German friends think that this place serves some of the best 'German' food in the country, and I think that they are correct! This restaurant is worth a special trip: If you get a chance, try it.

Das kornhaus ist ein super Restaurant in einer super Lage. Es liegt inmitten der Natur und weit und breit nichts anderes als wunderbare Natur, die einem nach dem guten Essen gut tut. Es gibt immer Events ob zu Weihnachten, Ostern oder Neujahr. Das Essen schmeckt und das preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt bei der Qualität. Im Sommer immer ziemlich voll, deshalb sollte man immer reservieren. Selbstgemachter Kuchen am Nachmittag rundet das ganze nochmals ab. Das Personal ist okay. Das Kornhaus sieht recht modern aus und die Stimmung passt da immer.

Bin seid der Neueröffnung immer wieder im Künstlerhaus. Und jedes einzelnen mal schmeckt es einfach grossartig! Komme aus der schweiz, weswegen ich auch die rösti sofort probierte mit dem Champignong-Rahmschnitzel.In die Sosse möchte ich mich am liebsten jedesmal hineinlegen. Super geschmack, mit Mundgerechten frischen Champignongs. Das Rösti: Aussen knusprig, ihnen saftig. Genau wie es sein soll.Das Schnitzel schön knusprig und ebenso saftig.Empfehle jedem auch das Cordonbleu, dessen Kässe bei jedem Schnitt schön hinausfliest :D
