After walking up the Krippenstein all the way from down in Obertraun I was really hoping for some better food. In the end I took only a "Apefelstrüdel", this was already a disapointment, my son had a spaghetti, which was cold! At least the pasta was, the sauce was hot. I did not have the energy to go back and complain. But we left after we were finished.

It's a family business, so it was like if we were gests of a family. The food was excellent home made. I ate Wiener snitzel, with a huge salad. I loved it. We were sitting in the terrace wich has great wiew at the lake, rounded by the mountains. The service was kind and perfect. One more thing. Don't miss the Marillen snaps!

The yard is very nice and quite because it's hidden away from the noise of the street, not to mantion that it's right on the bank of the lake. The food was good, I really recommend this place!

This place is very special. For sure because you have to take a walk of about 5km through the mountains to get there. It will take you about 1:15-1:30. Even for my children, 6 and 8, it was not too far. The view from the restaurant is lovely. The menu is not very large but for me there was a good choice with a Wiener schnitzel (12,80 Euro). And I must say it was a good one.

Had driven by this place for a week and finally had a meal their. They are very busy and very popular. The menu is not large but what they serve is very good and nice portions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are moderate in range. Very clean and nicely laid out.

Loved sitting outside this restaurant in the sun. Lovely setting right next to the lake, and it's very popular with those going on the three lake tour. Food was so tasty, cordon bleu with parsley potatoes and cranberry sauce. We also went for an evening meal and that was good too.

Friendly staff and fantastic food. The burgers were brilliant, especially recommend the Farmer Burger (Bauern Burger) - served with a potato Rösti and not a bun. Usual favourites on the childrenâs menu. And a variety of choices for dessert or ice cream. A great place to sit and relax and enjoy great food and mountain views.
Where to eat Cafe food in Bad Aussee: The Best Restaurants and Bars
My family (husband and two boys ages 5 and 6) are here tonight. It was the best meal we had in Austria. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. The food was absolutely delicious. They served authentic food from this area, all homemade. They also make cider and local schnapps, including a pine cone schnapps which was delicious and not like anything I have ever tasted. They have tables outside, some of which have a view of the lake. The indoor seating was also lovely and had great views. Itâs a small restaurant with a very farmhouse / homegrown experience. If you want to feel like you are eating at a local friendâs house, come here. You will not be disappointed.

Drive up the mountain from Altaussee to find this traditional hut/ restaurant/ hotel. We went after seeing the traditional music evening advertised (Tuesday night), a guitarist and excellent accordionist playing traditional Austrian music. You should book....we asked our hotel to phone for us.The goulash was excellenta.aThe wins list only shows wines of 1/8 litre.......ask for house wine and you'll get a very full glass.Lots of Austrians there says a lot about the quality.

Our excursion restaurant has closed seasonally from the end of October to May 2020. By May 2020, we have reopened!
We visited this Gasthaus for lunch, during a hike around the Hallstatt lake. They have outdoors tables and the view over the lake and mountains is breathtaking. We ordered a portion of fried chicken, a typical "snack" made by buttered bread, cheese and salami and a slice of poppy-seed cake, an apple juice and a small radler beer for a total of â¬30. They have English menu and the staff is friendly. Recommended!
