The Northern Territory (abbreviated as NT) is a federal Australian territory in the central and central northern regions of Australia. It shares borders with Western Australia to the west (129th meridian east), South Australia to the south (26th parallel south), and Queensland to the east (138th meridian east). To the north, the territory is bordered by the Timor Sea, the Arafura Sea and the Gulf of Carpentaria. Despite its large area—over 1,349,129 square kilometres (520,902 sq mi), making it the third largest Australian federal division—it is sparsely populated. The Northern Territory's population of 244,000 (2016) makes it the least populous of Australia's eight major states and territories, having fewer than half as many people as Tasmania.

Corroboree Houseboats and Fishing Boat Hire formerly Mary River Houseboats are situated on the calm waters of Corroboree Billabong, approximately ninety minutes drive southeast from Darwin. Come and experience the beauty of the wetlands and the wilderness of this pristine river system. Whether it be exploring, fishing or sightseeing, do it from the comfort of your own houseboat. Cruise aboard Houseboats with showers, gas barbeques, fridges, double suites, single bunks and more! Party Boats are great for groups of up to ten or twenty and Leisure Boats are suited for groups of six or less. Fishing boats are available too, great for fishing runoffs and the Rockhole. Operating from May to October each year.
Corroboree Billabong and the Mary River is a paradise for bird watchers, crocodile spotters and anyone just wanting to escape to a peaceful zone amongst the water lillies and mangroves in the Top End. We fished a little but mostly meandered the channels looking at the bird life and just chilling out with a book. The houseboat is easy to manoeuvre and requires no license. We did not get off the boat and could not see any reason to. We anchored or drifted depending on whether we were fishing or croc or bird watching. It was easy. The fridge was big enough to not need an esky. The mosquitoes and midgies peaked at dawn and dusk and are unrelenting. You need spray, burners, to get the screens down an hour before sunset at least and stay indoors at peak times to avoid the little buggers. Despite the missies, this is an epic trip. Sitting on the top deck leaning back and star watching each night is total serenity
