We rented two bikes for 11€ apiece here and followed the owner’s suggested route for an absolutely perfect, very hot mid-summer afternoon, mostly outdoors, in this lovely city: through Sanssouci park where we stopped for ice cream bars (including nice vegan one), on by the Russian colony to the Cecilienhof where we went through the exhibition documenting the Potsdam Conference. Then along lakes to a spot where did as the Germans do and enjoyed a cool skinny dip since we hadn’t brought bathing suits with us. Then over the Glieneke Bridge (of spies) for a drink at a small beer garden before returning along the Havel River through the Babelsberg Park to give back the bikes.
