Construction of this palace began in 1492. Today, part of the palace is a museum and is open to the public. There is a separate wing where the present Duchess of Medinaceli lives with her descendants and family. The palace has many gardens, patios, fountains, and salons. The patios contain many Roman statues. Everywhere on the first floor one will find Roman mosaic floors. The walls are covered with beautiful ceramic tile in many different Mudejar styles.

Beautiful gardens, with many water features to created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Look out for the stunning Baths of Maria de Padilla. Best visited in Spring-time when the jasmin is in full bloom and a gentle breeze will fill the gardens with their lovely perfume.

These are well manicured gardens in the heart of Seville, with plenty of flowering colour. There is also the monument to Christopher Columbus depicting his ship the Santa Maria which is the highlight. You only need an hour or less but it’s a good walk for starting the day on the way to other tourist attractions.
