Archery Games Calgary is the very first indoor archery tag facility in Calgary Alberta. Teams of 3-10 battle it out in the indoor archery arena.
Archery games is a bit like dodge ball but with foam tip arrows. Everyone gets a bow, a sanitized protective face mask and an optional arm guard. We had a 15 minutes tutorial and practice with the referree on how to load the arrow unto the bow and how to shoot. Yes there is a technique to it. The playing field has a good size for a maximum of 20 players (10 on each side). We were 14 players and it was sometimes tight. There is a neutral zone in the middle where the arrows are laid down at the start of each game. No one can shoot at you or be shot at when in that zone. The referee explained the different games really well. Everyone was a bit tentative at first but it didn't take long to get it and elevate the intensity of the game. It's important that players wear runners and a light t-shirt as it got pretty warm running back and forth. You can wear shorts too. My mask was fogging up a bit and I heard the same from others but nothing to stop you from playing. If you wear eye glasses it will be a bit harder to fit the mask on but I suggest you bring your contact lenses. We played for one hour and had a load of fun. I'd say it's a high intensity game and will make you sweat so come prepared. There are inflatable bunkers that were brought onto the field for one game and it was fun to be able to hide behind to reload. Also, another game saw couple of soft balls thrown in the mix. If you didn't have time to reload, you could kill a player with a ball. Whenever someone got hit with an arrow or a ball, that person moved to the bench on the sideline and if one of their teammate hit one of the target of the opposing side, they buy one of the teammate's life back and they can return to play. The goal is to hit all of the players on the other side but with the possibility to buy a life back, the game can last a while. Loved the fact we had a referee as she was managing the game and coached us throughout. I would highly recommend this for any sport or office team that is looking for a physical team building. The other good thing about this is; archery games is located in the same complex as Locked Room so I had the other half of my group playing escape rooms which worked perfectly well for us. Two small negative comments about archery games: They have lockers so you can secure your valuable but they don't supply the lock. You can rent one or bring your own. At $25, I think they should provide water for players but they don't but you can buy it there as well or bring your own. Of note, they have a league that plays regularly, which sounds like a ton of fun! You have to be 7 years to play.

This is a fantastic place to throw a birthday party . They have a variety of virtual games and the escape room. We also booked a party room which has more games and a great big couch. This is our 3 year in the row and my son and his friends didn't get board yet. The staff Is very accomodating , they return a call or email immediately . We will definitely book this place again.

We have had a lot of fun in the Edmonton location before, so we decided to try the Calgary location on our trip through Calgary. We were very impressed. We liked how the cafe seating faces most of the play structure so parents can easily watch their kids. There are two baby/toddler areas. We also like how the cafe has a lot of options that are healthier than your standard fast food fare. Will definitely visit on our next trip through Calgary!

Axe Games is an axe throwing facility in Calgary, Alberta. We have a licensed restaurant & bar and we can accommodate groups of up to 40 people. Axe throwing makes for a great team building activity, birthday event, bachelor / bachelorette party, or just a fun night out with friends!
We visited Axe on A Sunday afternoon (which was great as other Axe -throwing places aren't open Sundays). We had a group of 9, and had a lot of fun! Staff was friendly and explained everything really well, and were happy to help us out along the way!
