We studied in Bali for three weeks. From all restaurants I believe, we visited La Baracca the most. Seminyak, Canggu and even Uluwatu. Nice menu, friendly service, good atmosphere. The business is done by some Italian friends who spread the excellent cuisine all the way to Bali. The pizza's, pasta's, gnocci, and aperitivo's are all taken and recommended. We celebrated birthdays in Canggu where you have this beautiful view over the ricefields with a warm breeze through your hairs, while nipping a negro amaro, nothing could be more perfect. End the dinner with limoncello, and get another one with the bill. Worth visiting!Thanks Tim for your review. Celebrated a friendâs birthday with a large group at Seasalt. The service was great and everyone enjoyed the experience very much. The menu is Japanese-inspired fusion food with an emphasis on seafood, but I also tried the Wagyu short ribs and was not disappointed. Also an extensive wine list available.

Aya street is a Latin restaurant (and one among many sprouting up in Bali) which has an interesting set up - a very casual outdoors overlooking the road with a slightly more chic interiors. The menu isnât very expansive (can be a good thing at times) with the regular options of tacos and ceviche plus some Asian stuff like wasabi flavored tuna tartare (PS: Peru has a big Japanese community). The mains had fish, truffle quinoa, nasi goreng etc. They had a buy one get one offer on cocktails. The margarita was great. The tuna tartare had everything going for it. The main was great as well - I got the barramundi which was smoked in an chafing dish and that was the highlight of my meal. The fish was served with some other seafood and a creamy quinoa. Skipped desserts but wonât skip this place the next time Iâm in Bali.

The tuna avocado tataki appitizer set us up for a fall; it was a great balance of textures, including crumbled, deep fried salmon skin. Unfortunately, the rice for the beef bowl was under cooked and the rice for the chiraishi was too wet. Some thing that should never happen in a Japanese restaurant. Needless to say we went away disappointed and unsatiated... When there for breakfast this morning just the two of us. Asked if the french toast was a big or a small portion she said big as in 4 slices. I asked if they could make it two slices (pay the same) so he could eat a kids size portion they could not do it. It is not like we are changing the whole dish it is just asking for a bit less so we don't have to trow half of it away and still pay the same amount. But no. Working as a chef my self for 20 years this is a bit strange to me. But well spend my money else where then. HI There, We are sorry to hear you had this experience.
