The shrines and temples of Kyoto offer a rare link between modern life in the city and its very ancient past. The Shimogamo Shrine dates to the 6th century and seems suspended in time, its serenity and spiritual power still palpable. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, then see the life-sized Thousand Armed Kannon statues of Sanjūsangen-dō. Enjoy traditional geisha performances, then savor a tranquil meal at a restaurant overlooking the Kamo River.

namco Aeon Mall Kyoto: one of the largest entertainment facilities near Kyoto station. Come and experience exciting Japanese arcade games
I really enjoyed my visit to this arcade. I was visiting Japan with a few friends, and we happened to be in Kyoto that day. The arcade has a lot of different games to play including crane games, rhythm games, and even a VR Zone with virtual reality games. I especially enjoyed the new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Battle Royale game they had, which I got to try. I'm a big fan of the series and the idea of playing an arcade battle royale game with other people across the world set in the city of Morioh was awesome! The arcade even had a machine where you could win Redbull as a prize, which I thought was hilarious. There's also lots of other cool stuff nearby in the mall, including a dagashi store right across the way from the arcade. Overall, a good time.

A very enjoyable experience. I love going to the races in Australia and was quite excited to be able to attend a race meet in Kyoto. I was fortunate to be there for a Group 1 race. I would thoroughly recommend a visit for anyone who is a regular race goer, because even though very little English is spoken everyone is helpful and extremely kind and courteous.

Neko Cafe TiME is a cat cafe; a phenomenon indigenous to Japan, where you sit down and relax in the company of adorable cats. A must on any Kyoto trip; Neko Cafe TiME is located just 3 min away from Fushimi Inari Shrine!
My Wife and I stopped at this place after fighting the harrowing crowds at Fushimi Inari Taisha. After being frazzled with the crowds, this was the perfect place to have some calm and quiet and sit for some drinks while petting some Cats. I spoke with the person working and these cats here all have a story. Unlike many of the other cat cafes I have been to in Japan, where the cats are all purebred etc and pets. Many of these cats have been found abandoned and this place is awesome in taking in them and giving them a comfortable life, and reacclimating them to humans. People who come in and expect the animals to always be on and playful really have no idea about other living things. Sometimes animals are playful and sometimes they are not. They aren't anamatronic and perform for you on command. On the other hand if you are a cat lover/owner, this place is pretty much perfect.
