Hollywood beckons to tourists who long for a brush with Tinseltown glamor. Tour movie studios, slip your hands into the famous prints at the TCL Chinese Theatre, or indulge in a celeb sighting at one of LA’s white-hot nightspots. Spot your favorite star while shopping at The Grove, or forget all about the famous eye candy as you take in the iconic artwork at The Getty Center. For a different type of star-gazing, peek through the telescopes at the Griffith Observatory.

Melrose Avenue's Groundlings have been practicing their high-octane brand of anything-goes improvisation for nearly three decades. Audiences know the group for their wacky sketch comedy and lightning audience participation rounds, but for aspiring comedians and writers it's the Groundlings School that's the real draw. With courses in beginning and advanced improv, sketch and monologue comedy, the school has trained several generations of young wits. Its alumni includes a laundry list of "SNL"-ers (Phil Hartman, Julia Sweeney, Will Ferrell, Laraine Newman), Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson and Emmy-winning "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow. The theatre was also the home of Paul Reubens' early, raunchier version of "Pee-Wee's Playhouse." With pristine standards and a pool of hundreds of talented newcomers to draw from, the troupe offers some of the quickest, cleverest improv in town, cozily presented in their own 100-seat theater.

The Amazing Los Angeles Race is part scavenger hunt, part reality show, part self-guided tour, part race and all fun. The Amazing Los Angeles Race is a competitive sight seeing tour where racers get to have a reality show experience, racing against others while they get to see hidden treasures of Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles. It's the most unique sight-seeing tour in the world.
Highly recommend for adults and kids. We went with 2 families and had a great time. Gets everyone thinking and energized. One family was from LA and got to see places they haven't been to before and the other was from DC and was able to experience LA differently than just the common tourist spots.

ComedySportz is the longest running show in Los Angeles now in it's 20th year. Not comedy about sports; it’s comedy PLAYED as a sport! Two teams of our improvisers compete for laughs and points in a comedy competition. There are fouls to keep the show from being in poor taste; there’s even one to make a player apologize for telling lame jokes! The show is always completely interactive, and suitable for all audiences.

Loved visit to this cinema!!! My 13 year old and myself saw several films on our holiday to LA at Arclight.. most films still not shown in UK. Went for meal in restaurant before one film and was made immediately welcome by Ryan our host. Chatted and was very sincere, brought us delicious food, and made us so welcome. Pitty we did not see him again, had 2 more meals but must not have been working that day. Other staff members were accommodating also. Hope to visit this amazing theatre again in future, so many audiotauriums, relaxed and plenty of room in them. Loves the presentations before beginning of films by Arclight staff. Really clean and well kept and close to amenities in Hollywood. Thankyou!!!! R Williams x

If you are on Hollywood blvd after visiting TCL Chinese you really do need to see the El Capitan theatre just a short walk away, glitz and glamour is the difference with a charming 1920/30's feel, well worth a look.

Walk in the steps of the Tinseltown's stars: visit the theater's famous forecourt and gaze down at the stars' footprints, handprints and autographs immortalized in cement.
We decided to take a guided tour of the TCL Chinese Theatre - you will learn the history and see the breathtaking sights inside the theatre. You will also watch a short film seated inside the theatre on the history. Great experience!
