Family property since 1899. At the heart of the spa town of Vals les Bains, Genevieve and Lionel welcome you in a friendly place. Very bright restaurant room with 50 seats.80 seats outdoor in a shady patio near the canal. Traditional cuisine, dietetic mea
The food was pretty basic with a small amount of choice but very well prepared using local products. The owner was very friendly and welcoming making the experience enjoyable. The terrace offer a lovely setting for the hot summer nights. Early night finish expected though

Good place for a drink on the edge of the river and a small park, food was not bad for a brasserie, good local beer. And for children excellent Cheeseburgers. Go to one of the ic e cream parlours down the street for dessert.

This wine bar has a large variety of exquisite wines, the restaurant uses all local and fresh products. The chef Matthias cooks with a divine savour, the hospitality and competence of Laura is the one of a goddess. Thank you so much for the wonderful time, we will see us more often...

The owners are a couple who have run this hotel restaurant for 19 years; he cooks and she runs the place with quiet and charming efficiency. We stayed at the hotel four years ago and the staff has not changed⦠a good sign! The restaurant is very popular and crowded, deservedly so as the portions are generous, there is plenty of choice and a fine wine list (a local Ardeche viognier Grangeot was particularly appreciated).  The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, elegant without fuss, just like the service. We chose the basic 3-course menu and were offered an original âmise en boucheâ â cream soup of squash with a beetroot cream, a sandre (pike perch) souffle, filet of plaice and a good selection of desserts in the cafe gourmet.

We've eaten here a number of times now after strolling around the Sunday morning market and always enjoyed excellent food, drink and service. It's less pretentious and far more welcoming than one or two of its competitors in the immediate vicinity.

There are not many restaurants in Vals-lea-Bains, especially during the week-end. However, we were lucky enough to booked the last table for two and enjoyed my birthday dinner in this lovely restaurant. We appreciated the hospitality of the owner and her patience in explaining the dishes to us as we were eager to try something "local".The starter salad was amazing. The main course was Ok and the dessert was amazingly huge.Dining in Chez Mireille gives me an impression that Vals-les-Bains is a town that everyone knows everyone as in that night the small restaurant were full of cheerful guests chatting over tables.

The gastronomic table of the restaurant Vivarais offers a local cuisine with finesse, varied menus, depending on the season, and a rich menu of fresh products.
We went in for lunch - beautiful setting and the food is very elegantly prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. They bring out these tasty little starters, they are a little savory cookie, a little quiche and dish of olives. We tried a variety of both the "suggestion du jour" (items of the day) and items from the regular menu.

We stumbled on this restaurant while visiting Vals les Bains. Since our tastes run more toward the traditional, I was pleased to see a menu with offerings that we might enjoy. The wait staff here is pleasant and accommodating, the food was deliciously well prepared, and the setting attractive. The owner takes time to visit everyone, and insure they are enjoying their meal. He shared with us that his daughter had designed the beautiful place mats illustrating scenes of Vals les Bains. The prices in this restaurant are more than reasonable for the quality of the meal. I hope you give this one a try, it is a hidden gem!

We were really pleased to find this small restaurant tucked away in the old quarter of the Thueyts. The charming waitress was very helpful - and she spoke excellent English! There wasn't a huge choice, but all the dishes were very tasty. We both had the menu gourmand at 22 euros. The starter was chevre in a sort of spring roll with salad. Then my wife had the pork and I had the lamb - both were excellent. Also, the dishes came with a good variety of vegetables - not always something you can say about French restaurants. A 3 course meal washed down by a bottle of the excellent Ardechois red wine, followed by coffee, came to less than 60 euros.I would strongly urge any visitors to this area to try out this restaurant - just park in the town square, head north-east for about 100 metres, and it's on the corner.
