we were staying at a 4-star hotel close by, where the service at the restaurant was so awful (i.e. non-existent) that we got up and walked out.It was already late, but luckily we found this restaurant just down the street, and had an excellent meal in friendly surroundings.Thank you, Le 40, we'll definitely eat here again the next time we pass through.

moment très agréable passé en terrasse , après un accueil chaleureux de la part des propriétaires , pour un repas soigné avec des produits de qualité et savoureux , préparés avec beaucoup de savoir faire et de maitrise dans la cuisson.Prenez le temps de faire un détour sur les hauteurs de THIERS pour apprécier cette table intime et savoureuse !

The title refers to my visit around the La Coutellia exhibition. Following a recommend we booked into Flo's bio resto and were blown away. There was a trio playing jazz in front of the panoramic glazed window which gave a stunning view across the Limagne to the Puys, Sancy and beyond, as the resto is on top of the city walls. The muse bouche was excellent with a glass of apero, the main event was a shoulder of pork dressed with hay and capped with a rye bread hat and baked for 10 hrs, the hay and hat gave an interesting tobacco aroma, the meat was succulent and paired with pommes gratin and garlic flowers. Flo proposed a trio of reds, we picked a cracking Minervois. The dessert was a simple gateau with cream but the taste was on another level. Flo is the perfect hostess with a charming smile and gives her time to make sure each client is pleased. There are only 5 tables so booking is essential. The wine list is impressive of +100 from Chateau Montrose to Chilean blends. A really discreet exterior but the interior is a wonder of gastronomic pleasure. Thanks you Flo

This restaurant serves home made Auvergne food. Try the local cured ham, pounti (mix of pork meat, veggies and fruit), truffade (potatoes and cheese mix). Most dishes are made in house with local products, no frozen food here!Desserts are home made also.The restaurant is located in the old city center, it's clean if not really design, it could be warmer with a little older lay out, maybe less lights, but the boss is so nice that you'll forget about this quickly.Fair parices as well.

This place is very handy for the centre of town and in a historic building. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The local specialties are excellent. Lots of cheese and unusual things like cabbage sausage. The craft beer was wonderful! No hesitation in recommending!

We decided to give this place a miss after looking at the menu and prices, as well as the food people were being served. Far too little choice, especially for anyone with dietary restrictions, and pricey for what we saw being served, which seemed overly fussy rather than well presented.

Situated in the old part of the city of Thiers this restaurant serves some of the best examples of local cuisine. We opted for one of the specials "Charcuterie" platter. As well as tasting delicious the presentation of the food is impressive. Portions were generous and served by a very friendly and informative team. I would highly recommend stopping at this establishment .
