Excellent place to be, we always come back here. Family run restaurant with excellent products of the region well worked and transformed into copious dishes. My favorite menu us the pan-fried foie gras followed by duo of beef and foie gras finished with café gourmand.

Let wrap by the heat of the place, feel at home and be comforted by the aromas and flavors of delicious homemade food ... Voila how to describe a meal at Belle Vue restaurant . We offer a traditional and authentic cuisine in respect of flavors from fresh
My husband ordered the signature dish, the meat platter. It was mainly a dish of Sauerkraut with half of a potato cut in two with meat. there was a white sausage, red sausage, a rissoles, a piece of inedible ham hock which was mainly gristle. We had great expectations since reading the reviews but sadly we were disappointed. Staff were friendly and attentive and the view was magical. I must say the Creme brûlée was lovely though.

Just off the main route through the village of Orschwihr (a village about 5 km from Guebwiller) in the square called Place St. Nicholas this restaurant is located in an old building. The main dining room has heavy dark beams - very traditional Alsacian. The room upstairs is used by tour groups. On weekends this place is packed with the locals because the food is great - and hearty. We had the fondue - called fondue Chinois by the french - although it has nothing to do with Chinese food - which is beef or pork (your choice) which you cook on fondue forks in a simmering pot of broth. They do not serve cheese fondue. It is accompanied by six different sauces, pickles and a heaping platter of fries (frites). And ..... it is all you can eat! If you ask for another plate of meat or more fries they won't charge you for it. We asked them for a salad to go with it and that was no problem for them to prepare. It is a good idea to reserve in advance because it is a small place.

Two course lunch after tasting at Dirler-Cade down the road.Traditional, local village Auberge in sleepy part of Alsace. Superb quality/price ratio for delicious, well seasoned local produce sympathetically cooked and served. Lovely, well priced wine list. Looking forward to a longer visit in future.Definitely a top recommendation if you're in this part of the region.

The Tartes flambées, which are actually like a local flat bread topped with bacon, crème fraîche and gruyère cheese were delightful ! I had always heard about them and am I glad I tried them ! We ordered a bottle of Gewurtztraminer from the same town...delicious ! The waitress was very friendly and was kind enough to speak english with us since our french is bad ! The people in Alsace in general were extremely friendly unlike the people in Paris. Next trip to France will be in the region of Alsace, again !

Restaurant gastronomique avec un chef cuisinier qui innove beaucoup.
We were already at this place the second time within 3 years and the only thing I can say is: highly recommended if you like fine dinning, innovative menu creations and the use of local and partially organic produce/ingredients. The service is top and the prices reflect an excellent price/value ratio ! Reservations are highly recommended as this is not a huge place, but one with a very distinctive ambiance.

This restaurant is located in a family-owned large estate in the middle of the vineyards. For more detailed info please see my comments on Hotel du Bollenberg (Rouffach). The scheme we recommend is : taste the estate wines at their winery (free tasting for individuals or families), then have dinner at the Auberge and finally spend the night at the Hotel sitting in the same estate (just across the street).Twice in a year, we have had dinner at this place and were always happy.Their Choucroute Royale is a must. This dish is so generous in quantity that you hardly have room for a appetiser and/or a desert. To accompany the choucroute, my advice is to drink their Riesling "Clos Sainte Apolline", selection. Good and not expensive.Service is very friendly and efficient. One last recommendation : book in advance because this is a popular place for locals as well.

The Resaurant is surprising in a small village and attached to a hotel. We had a friendly but somewhat subdued French welcome. We did not highlight that we were Australians (rather than English) as we should have. The staff warmed up over the evening. The menu is very French (no English alternative available) but the staff provided all the assistance required and dealt well with gluten free requirements. Decor was sophisticated and enjoyable (see photos). The food was excellent and a gastronomic bonanza. The range of foie gras preparations was excellent and the fish on a base of peas and the beef with vegetables and cheese selection were also great. Dear Ascott150,We thank you for the time you spent writing about your experience. We are glad that all the meal suited to you and would like to apologize if you founded our welcome a little cold. We have Nothing against Australian people, neither against English ones :) ... maybe the person welcoming you was just not really speaking English good enough. We'll make better next time.Hope to see you again in Westhalten,Best regards,Jérôme KOEHLER
