A group of colleagues headed to Simone on Saturday night, anticipating a great dinner based on the reviews. The slightly anonymous interior seats about twenty; contortions necessary to get into some of the seats. Donât overdress. The sole waitress appeared to be irritated and put-out. When we asked if they could do a vegetarian plate, she emphatically shook her head no, but with a little cajoling, she came around, and the kitchen managed to dish up a lovely meat-free plate. The food was excellent and the prices good. Three stars for the service, four for the locale, and five for the food.

Le Pavlova is a French-style teahouse, near the Courthouse of Rouen. It is the Australian (or New Zealander) cake which is an hommage a great baker made after seeing the famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova dance that this tea house was named after. For
If your looking for a place that offers tea and cake decadence. Then look no future than Le Pavlova. Total quality from the service, the tea and the amazing cakes. It's impossible to feel any guilt on eating the cakes here. Highly recommend a visit here.

We visited here this evening with no reservation, staff were friendly and smiley, being generous with my terrible French and their brilliant English. Dinner was beautiful, galettes, salad, sweet crepes and frites were all delicious, and a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

There was so much from which to choose but we ultimately decided on the tasting menu. The 7 courses were actually 9 sumptuous dishes of fish, vegetables, duck and veal. The standout for us was the tuna tartare smothered in amazing truffles but every dish was superb. The cheese board was a sight to behold! My wife has some food allergies and the staff was so accommodating. The atmosphere was perfect in the restaurant with a very attentive team of servers to cater to your every desire. The wine list was extensive with a bottle for every taste!

Booked for Sunday lunch. Menu reflect local cuisine, which is what we wanted. Enjoyed the meal, traditional plates well cooked; nothing particularly wow. Did not really care for the decor, especially the clown paintings! Perhaps a bit old fashioned, but maybe that's just our taste. Overall, enjoyed our afternoon lunch.

Cosy speciality coffee shop with a local and healthy home-made cuisine. All type of coffee extractions (espresso and pour overs). Brunch on sunday
Friendly. Great food. Amazing cakes, flan and cookies. The flan was incredible. A brunch here is an excellent experience. Granola bowl, coffee, juice and bowl of scrambled egg, avocado on bread, rice and fish. Very popular and understandably so. highky recommended Dear John,Thank you so much for your nice review. We are glad you liked our brunch and the flavors you could find. Our pâtissière prepares the flan with the maximum care just to be sure, it is perfect. This is also our favorite cake :) best,The entire team

I was warmly welcomed as a solo diner both times I visited. The lovely hostess/server brings over the blackboard/ardoise menu, 3-4 choices each of entrée/appetizer, plat/main, and dessert and translates into English if needed. Each time I was brought a tiny chilled amuse-bouche, once a rectangle of herby roasted potato topped with a pouf of creamy smoked salmon, once a little pot of chopped shrimp with marinated dried tomato, both refreshing on warm evenings. I loved the texture of the Neufchâtel fried in a crispy golden crust, warm and oozy against a cool apple chutney and green salad. Cod/ cabaillaud came with a light coconut curry sauce and rice. The êntrecote was a huge piece of steak, perfectly cooked and tasty, though a bit on the chewy side, served with Camembert stuffed potato and a bit of green salad. Both times the restaurant was pleasantly busy with a combination of locals and visitors, some light background music but not at all noisy, really lovely!

Very nice and excellent place to have lunch in Rouen. Small, very good service, normal prices. We had the menu of the day.First dish was 3 types of mushrooms ( the newest of the season) ; some cooked some not, with a sauce ...Great. The main was a Saint Jacques (a fish) that was great in a combination os spinach and sauce Excellent. The cheeses I chose were from Normandy also Great. The dessert and apple Granny Smith so good! The set menu for the day was 35⬠without the cheese and with the selection went to 47â¬. Very good choice. Better prices than in Paris. Rouen is only 1 hour 12' by train from Paris. It is worth a visit you can go and return the same day.

My collegue knows that if in Rouen dining experiences enhance the visit - at times this could be a Relais de Routiers just out-of-town at â¬13 per person including wine, or something special. This visit was special at Restaurant Chez Martial at Bonsecours With only twelve for lunch it was evident that some negotiation was necessary by him to get a reservation. Are you happy with 'Lievre a la Royale' was the question before our desirability was confirmed. Perhaps the thought of wild hare would worry some ? 'No problem see you at noon'.The menu for the day was 'sashimi' scallops; 'Lievre a la Royale', a slowly cooked wild hare dish that was not unlike a ballotine with the hare enhanced with foie gras and ceps in a sauce from the days of Escoffier; a selection of six perfectly mature chevre cheeses; and an orange sorbet in caramel basket. The classic techniques of Chef Martial Duval very evident in each dish. The menu was â¬37 per person without wine. The best thing about the place is the personal attention of the Owner-Chef-Sommelier Martial Duval and the information he imparts to guests. 'Yes, the hare is wild, it's a Paul Bocuse recipe, the dish is slowly cooked for seven hours, the scallops came from a fisherman at the port this morning, did you notice the special salt, the foie gras gives you a very rich sauce, you might find this wine interesting, do you have hare in Australia...' and much more. The decor may for some be dated, but that's the charm, everything is in step with the classic dishes served and can best described as a menu we are not often able to enjoy at such affordable prices..
