This hotel restaurant looks very Art Deco rather like a liner. The views over the water and the sand bar are lovely.Really competent cooking and a very pleasant lunch.Starters of oysters and scallops beautifully presented and delicious. Mains of rabbit and pigeon were earthy and good. Finished with a delicate tarte tatin or at least a deconstructed one.Delicious food- this was a return visit.

We visited this restaurant while holidaying in Port Bail. Having been seated, we had to ask for menus and then waited a long time before someone came to take our order. We then waited for almost an hour before our pizza arrived. The food was unremarkable. We decided not to have desert which was just as well as the waitress didn't come to ask if we wanted anything else.

We love walking our dogs on Lindbergh beach but had never tried the restaurant there except to buy the odd drink after a long walk. Firstly I would recommend booking as the first evening we turned up it was full so we rebooked for the following night. The menu isn't extensive but what we had was well cooked and very nice. The pichet of wine was great and there is Leffe on draft. There is also a massive selection of cocktails. Dessert was also great and there is a really chilled out vibe. We enjoyed it very much.

We have been coming here for years and never left disappointed. The menu has changed over the years and now the set menus are amazing, excellent value, don't know how they do it!? We had â¬25 menu, foie cras with some warm meat with salad, wood fire cooked duck -huge portion!, couldn't eat it all, it was delicious - cheeses and tart tatin. Wow! And all that for the price! The cook is now younger generation, he has obviously been taught well, he knows how to cook perfection.Staff friendly and efficient. Going back when next in France.

We met friends for lunch and thought we'd try here for a change. It's nothing flash appearance wise, has friendly waiting staff and the food was nice (ubiquitous moules but with plenty of different sauces, fish & chips British style and cod in curry tomato sauce were chosen by us). All were very nice but we were a tad startled at average of 16⬠per main course. We did wonder why no plat du jour menu offered but decided it may not offer it. Nice time with friends and nice food but on leaving we saw blackboard outside advertising plat du jour 10â¬... Hadn't noticed it on the way in as running in from rain but we felt disappointed we were not offered it so that has now clouded our judgement and will not be likely to rush back. Shame considering we live here.

Went there for lunch with friends. Had the lunch menu of â¬12.50 plus half litre rosé and coffee. Good choice of menu for starters and main courses. Really enjoyed the meal, owner was very attentive and fresh towels produced between courses. Price for each couple was â¬26.50 which is excellent.

We came in for breakfast on market day and got stung...i mean STUNG 10 Euro each for coffee, croissant and orange juice.....but we came back for drinks to find the best priced beers in the area....so we came back and had more !!Bonjour, pour votre petit déjeuner à 10 euros, nous vous avons servis à chacun : un jus d'orange pressé maison, une viennoiserie, une baguette tradition avec beurre et confiture, un fromage blanc et boisson chaude aux choix.Belle journée à vous

We have been going to the Rendevous for many years and it produces a consistent quality of good food, tastily presented, nicely cooked and a good value. There are three eating areas, a small bar, a large upstairs restaurant and an outside terrace. We had mussels and chips of such a size that we were unable to finish them.

Our new favourite restaurant in Portbail. Lovely converted barn restaurant serving traditional French food. Excellent menu and chefs specials - try Jamboneau cooked on feu de Bois or the piece de boucher. Service is very attentive and not rushed. Can't wait to return next summer holiday.

This restaurant serves good, local French food using local products. There are set menus as well as a la carte and excellent sea food options. Good ambience and nice service. Portbail itself is charming and worth the visit. We went more than once it was so good and would return if ever in the area again.
