Went last sunday after visiting the grottes in vallorbe (recommended). We went with three children, who are very used to going to restaurants. Welcome was sceptic at first, we had foie gras, which was very good. Then trio of tartares. The only tartares that was good, was the fera. The salmon was too salty, the beef was mediocre. Very good local wine. The children had perches- they were also mediocre. We will try again when in neihgboorhood

For red meat lovers, this restaurant in the countryside offers a limited menu of beef and horse meat steaks. Salads are served with the main dish and local red and white wines can be ordered by the glass. To be recommended for those who want to explore little known places in quaint villages in the Swiss countryside.

First meal after arriving, we wanted light fare. Good place for it. Nicely appointed, clean atmosphere. Friendly staff and home cooked food. More country style cooking than high end stuff. They have cheeseburgers and frittes. Saw locals loving them. I had a sausage and mashed potatoes with some kind of cheese in it. Good feed. Wine they suggested good. Apple tart perfect. Country style duck good too.

Le Zingue has a very interesting concept of having different Chefs coming into cook on different days,. The meat they serve is extremely tender, fantastic. At the end of the week they serve Fillet de Perche from the Lac de Neuchatel or when ot of season from the Gottard...The choice of wine is really good as Le Zingue is also a wine cellar / shop as well so the price are kept very reasonable when you eat in the restaurant and if you like the wines you have had with the meal you can buy some to take home at retail prices. Also have midday menu.Service can be a bit hectic,,,, and slow!!

This is a place not to miss, since it has been taken over by the new owners it has made a great change to the food served. The food is excellent, Madame is in front of house and serves with a passion and Monsieur is in the Kitchen making great food.Lunch time you have a choice of menus in the café side and in la sale you have a menu d'affairethe prices are reasonable and quality is great, Just what the region needed. Plenty of parking nearby so easy access. Would recommend making a reservation as it fills up quickWe will be going back more often

And it's beautiful in there, and the staff is top class. There's all sorts of fresh bread, croissants, pastries, cakes, pies, mignardises, plus you can sit down for an excellent hot meal or coffee.

Not a very large menu but great taste and local products. I had the beef and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The brasserie is not very big which is the kind of thing I enjoy. The restaurant is a bit more cosy and the menu is more elaborate.Perfect place for a quick lunch or for a lovely evening, I'm soon to be a regular !

Restaurant chaleureux et décontracté, cuisine traditionnel, plats végétariens et des soirées à thème avec des mets venant d'ici et d'ailleurs.
After being closed for a few year as the whole building was refurbished the restaurant has reopened smaller bit still with the same warm friendly atmosphere. It's a good place to go either as a couple, a group of friends or with the family. Can highly recommend the Pizzas freshly made and big....The home made hamburgers are also fantastic, you can also pick the size of them. They have a big blackboard on the wall where you can make choice and also has the specialities indicated.Would recommend reserving in the evenings and weekends as its a popular place. There is plenty of parking just down the road about 200m helps build up your appetite as you will not come away hungry.Nice selection of wines at decent prices. Can recommend it to any one, you won't be disappointed, you might have to wait a few minutes longer when it's busy.

In the interests of having 'Swiss' cuisine, we chose this over the Thai restaurant my husband and I have visited before. The inside of the restaurant is very 'old-school' and charming, with features that look as if they have not been moved in several decades. The service was also very friendly and prompt, and they serve Boxer beer, which I am a big fan of. The main issue for me was the food itself. Two friends and my husband had the entrecote, which seemed OK, accompanied by some decent looking vegetables and a smallish side of shoestring (thinner) fries. The waitress offered more fries in a second round, which was sweet. My dish was a bit of a let-down, hence the 3-star rating. I ordered the civet de cerf (chasse season and all that) and found the deer was too dry and too salty, and that the side of cabbage was a bit thin and not massively inspiring. Luckily the dish was only CHF 25 but I can't say I was overwhelmed by the cooking, which is a shame as I think this place would have been great otherwise.

not quite molecular, the chef borrows a few tricks to impress the guests at the moment they are served. Other than that his cuisine is extremely creative with some surprising addition to the menu, for example a small glass of a drink made of herbs usually used to season meat to awake your senses. Or seafood laid on a plate very graphically then he poured an emulsion with a lemon base which transformed all the colours on the plate giving life to the meal. The service was extremely professional but not stiff and we had a great time during the 5h that the meal lasted.
