This is my sixth visit and Have been made very welcome on all visits. The food is excellent and the choice is always good and nothing is to much for Claire the chef she is always available to make sure everything is perfect I have has some amazing deserts. But my favourite was basil ice cream with my mixed tomatoes starter OMG it was a-m-a-z-I-n-g.

Delighted to see that the new management is doing a great job here in one of our favourite spots. We had the lunch menu for 17â¬, three courses, delicious food beautifully presented. The lakeside setting takes some beating on a lovely sunny day.Looking forward to coming here again on our next visit in the summer.Highly recommended!

We visited for lunch with our local car club. It looks mediocre from the outside but inside has been beautifully updated with style and then you walk through to a lovely shaded terrace out the back. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent we all had the menu du jour and is was spot on. Would definitely make the journey to visit again.

Chris & Nad the owners of the Bonne Adresse are ex owners of a restaurant near to where we live and they moved to Nontron, itâs our second visit now to their new restaurant and as usual we werenât disappointed, plat de jour is â¬13.5 and is a buffet giving you a choice of starter, choice of main, a desert + wine. Itâs well worth a visit whilst in Nontron.

Caesar salad with grilled chicken, what could go wrong? Everything. Wilted lettuce, slivers of cut up Kraft cheese slices (the waiter tried to tell us it was cheddar, nope, it was rubbery Kraft and besides Caesar should have Parmesan), croutons that were not toasted, just huge hunks of yesterdayâs stale bread, yesterdayâs dried out chicken, and dressing that in no way resembled any Caesar dressing Iâve ever encountered. Plus tomato slices and a hard boiled egg, neither of which belongs in a Caesar. It looked like they just threw in whatever was hanging around in the kitchen. When we complained, again the waiter tried to tell us this was âPerigordâ style Caesar. Not even a, sorry it wasnât what you expected. And it cost us â¬14 each. I seldom encounter a meal that is so bad I canât eat it, but this was one. Horrible in every way.

We have a holiday cottage 2km from this restaurant and absolutely love the place. Every time we visit the cottage we ensure we make a visit to Les Bains Douches. The Pizzas are cooked the traditional way in a brick oven which adds to the flavour. All the pizzas are to die for, especially the sea food pizza which is a personal favourite. For those who prefer something a little different then there are French & English dishes to chose from which are all very tasty. The sweet menu is very varied and their crepes are excellent. The place is run by a husband and wife combo who are extremely friendly and helpful and both speak English, for those who are not fluent in the local lingo! It has a really nice seating area outside and accross the road from the restaurant which are ideal for the warmer summer months.Prices are reasonable and it also does take away!

We have been visiting Hotel Pellisson for over 10 years and have always been welcomed, looked after and incredibly well fed by the charming family Pellisson. However - how things do change. The family have sold the hotel to a very unprofessional team with no charm whatsoever and no skills at all in the kitchen. We were a party of 8 and were celebrating a birthday. It turned out to be a disaster. Service was incredibly slow and we were sitting in a 'function room' with plastic chairs while the dining room was being refurbished. This was not mentioned when we booked. And then the food - tarte aux asperges came as a mound of unappetising rice pudding with a few spears of odd looking asparagus and a square of pastry; steaks were shockingly cooked; steak tartare came as raw mince with no flavouring whatsoever; and sadly the sole aux cepes which had been a signature Pellisson favourite came as a large bowl of hot cream which was completely inedible. The new proprietor never came near our table to apologise nor even to ask if anything was wrong! Not a euro was taken off the bill and as we were very embarrassed by the whole thing we paid the bill and said nothing. My advice to anyone thinking of going there - DON'T!! Incredibly sad. End of an era.
