The restaurant was empty and so the waiter was attentive but overly so. Our plates were snatched away as quickly as possible and the portion sizes were so small that we left hungry but paid nearly â¬198 for the small amount of food and a bottle of wine. Sadly we won't go back even though the small portions were tasty. It isn't Michelin food just plain cuisine.

Suggested by our hotel we had a stroll from the "La Croix.." to the restaurant. On advice I had pre booked a table, good advice as the restaurant is extremely popular. Very good varied menus at various pricing. Something there for everybody. Staff are professional yet at the same time friendly and not averse to "un blague Anglaise" Delicious food. Thanks Bengy.

We usually avoid hotel restaurants, a prejudice developed long ago and perhaps no longer valid. This restaurant shares a building with the Best Western Diane Hotel. We had steak, pate en croute, and tarte tatin, with glasses of an inexpensive red Sancerre. This place is a good bet if you want to go a cut or two above bistrot level. Bonus: No recorded music!

We ordered Pavé du Saumon ( a chunk of salmon ) that arrived with fries, a small green salad and zucchini with tomatoes. Very good.A salad with slices of smoked duck on toasts.Very good. The draft beer was Panaché, it's a mixture of beer and lemonade, similar to the German Radler. For dessert we had Crème Brûlée and Panna Cotta.Good service, very good food, reasonable prices.

Stopped here for lunch on a roadtrip and really don't regret it. The owner himself is taking care of placing customers, having a few words, very nice conversation, helping to make the right food choice and the right according wine... All of that for a very reasonable price! Quality of food is excellent - typical French cuisine, very well done. Nothing extravagant, but excellent value for money. The man made me discover a cut of beef ("Charolais") that is called "langue de chat" (cat's tongue), actually very rare and just wonderfull. He explained that this piece is somewhat one percent of the whole animal, and you can't find it by a regular butcher... only connoisseurs have access to it :o)The decoration of the place is clean, no extravagance either. Whenever you land in Nevers, try this place!

We had dinner at this charming restaurant in Nevers, a group of eight. Service was attentive and caring. The food exceptional. Had the chicken and dried fruit terrain for starters and it was tasty. Main was beef with nicely prepared baked vegetables. A bottle of the local Sancerre complimented the food, then a bottle of Languedoc. Desserts included cheeses, pear tart, and an apricot and peach compote. Prices very reasonable. Food five star. Well worth a visit.

When we moored at Nevers, Rometic who was in charge of the little port was extremely helpful giving us recommendations and detailed sites to visit . He recommended this and John Michele Courons restaurant. After viewing both we decided this restaurant looked warmer and more inviting. We were so pleased we went in, the set meal at 23 Euros was exceptional the plates where presented Michelin style with each course as wonderful as the next, the wine was good and a reasonable price for both a bottle and Glass. We met some of the other boating community in there who hailed from Montana in the states; they could not believe this little find. They left before us making us promise to rate our experience. Such friendly polite staff that were very attentive. When it came time for the bill we asked for a taxi, instead the Chef turned up at the table to take us back to our boat. He dropped us and gave us all a traditional French hug and a kiss on the cheek. After cooking such fantastic meals for us we felt very honoured. What kind people they are

Not only was this restaurant a welcome find after a long drive from Paris, but it was a grand surprise! Tucked into a small street in Nevers, this restaurant offered absolutely exceptional presentation, service and cuisine. The chef deserves much applaud for his creative yet very cozy cooking. Bravo! And the waiter gave a superb wine recommendation. The only complaint, it wasn't appropriate to lick our plates.

We were celebrating a sixtieth birthday, the restaurant was very good experience. It's situated in an interesting part of town. The plat de jour was reasonably priced and very tasty. The owner even too the trouble to explain recipe to my inquisitive wife.
