Reviews on French food in Marseille, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. Travelers visit the port city of Marseille, the third largest city in France, for the meeting of style and history. The bay, flanked by Fort Saint-Nicolas, and Fort Saint-Jean shelters the Castle of If, from Count of Monte Cristo fame. Watched over by the basilica Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the city's pedestrian zones and shopping areas (including the colorful French-African quarter) mix with historical sites.Travelers looking for a fun time go to the OK Corral, a cowboy theme amusement park.

Cuisine bistronomique a connotation sudiste. Sans prétention, juste pour le plaisir du goût et de la qualité.
In general, there are 2 types of restaurant, particularly in the south of France. There are some restaurants where the staff exude a studied indifference as you enter and give the impression that youâre interrupting their perusal of their Prix Eurotiercé (a daily Horse Racing betting programme), or even more unforgivable their personal conversations. Fortunately, but much less common, are restaurants where you are welcomed as a long-lost family member, and the staff go the extra mile to look after you. The Bistrot o'Prado is definitely in the 2nd category. The atmosphere really nice and congenial, and the quality of the food is excellent. The setting of the restaurant quite unique, located in the island at the crossroads between Perrier and the Prado. The staff are happy to speak English (but also prepared to encourage diners to try out their French), with great personal service. One staff member, a Yoann Huget (France's prolific rugby try scorer) double, took the time to give us the wifi password, at the height of the mid-day rush. The portions are large and of good quality- tuna tartare (mi-cuit), in full-bodied beet juice was delicious. This restaurant specialises in shellfish, personally not my thing but my friends feast on the shells and crustaceans. Overall this place is highly recommended â the level of car noise and pollution is rather high, the Bistrot being located on a traffic island between 2 busy roads, but the ambiance in the sunny Cote dâAzur more that make up for it â recommended.

Enjoyed the savory twist, which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Itâs a unique take on the bread and I really enjoyed the combination. Itâs quite filling too! Itâs approx $6-9 euros for each and if you want to add cheese on the outside, you can do that with a small price too. Totally delicious and yummy for breakfast!

Taste the French style burger. Our burgers are not only deliciously tasty they are also great quality and made from fresh ingredients only, from the local butchery, boulangerie and cheesemonger.
Delicious burger, great homemade brioche bun with French fries. Cook perfectly. The service is wonderful & attentive - the sun was on my table & the owner immediately put up an umbrella. The girl waitress I had was adorable & very accommodating. Great to sit outside & enjoy the passerbyâs. Would definitely return.

We had lovely dinner here, it was really worth to go here ( itâs not in city center...) The service was very friendly and the food was well executed with seasonal ingredients of high quality.Good wine list containing some regional wines. I believe we were the only non French during that evening which always good sign when you see lots of local people eating in the place....Thank you so much for your return! It was a pleasure to welcome you.

A real French local restaurant - friendly welcome. Small menu, freshly cooked. Good reasonable wine list.Full house this evening so you probably need to book. All other tables occupied by locals. You will not be disappointed, but you may walk past not noticing. Search well - this place is very good.

We were lucky to get a table for 2 in this tiny restaurant in the back streets of Marseille. Fabrice single handedly runs the restaurant, cooks and serves and makes time to talk to all of his customers. The food was cooked perfectly - only having a choice of to dishes per course meant my partner and I could make separate choices for our main and then share each - a rumpsteak and tuna steak - both delicious. The Moelleux au Chocolat was not for sharing it was too divine!Reservations are only possible by phone (or in person) during opening hours. Our best & favourite meal in Marseille, and we were only sorry it was so busy we could only visit once. Fabrice was very generous and even recommended another restaurant in the area when he couldn't accommodate us on our first attempt to visit.

After reading the reviews I knew this was just what we wanted for dinner. And it surely was!Deasently priced but extremely well done meal; 32 euros. Portions are not too big becouse this is a slightly better restaurant and definitely not made for turists. The menu is only in French, but go for it! You won't be disappointed.
