The Chatelet is one of those rare gems, that you need to know, because you'd likely ignore it otherwise. We are visting this restaurant since many years, and it is one of th absolute fixed points of our holidays in the Lorraine. (The other being La Table d'Angele in La Bresse.) Whenever we are nearby (about two to three times per year), we are returning.Managed by the same staff since years (including, of course, the owners, but also the waitresses, which we consider to be an indicator for a friendly atmosphere internally), you'llfind yourselves enjoying *very* friendly service. The food is typical french / lorraine: High quality ingredients, carefully prepared.I'd like to recommend, in partucular (Note, that the menu changes occcasionally. These might, or might not be offered.)- The Creme de Munster, or the Salade Vousgienne (starters).- The baked cray fish tails. (Another starter)- The Plateau de Fromage.Reservations are generally recommended, but essential on Fridays: That's the day when "Moules & Frites" are offered and the locals are visting even more than on other days.

Suite à la visite du musée de la montagne à Château Lambert, nous faisons cette auberge. Bien nous en tous cas nous avons dégusté une succulente Tartine comtoise avec son confit d'oignons et sa Morteau. Joli endroit. Accueil sympathique, à l'écoute.
Best bakery in town, great breads and cakes, picknick sandwiches, pates, quiches, salads, cold drinks, and really great coffee. Take away or eat in. Very friendly and savvy service.

We arrived with great expectations as on trip advisor this place was indicated as No. 1. Well at least there is another better than this one. The price value benefit is not good at all. For a menu of EUR 30 I got smoked salmon (entry) although it was not bad at all, fried bacon with french fries (main), and a slice of cranberry tarte (dessert). Well for this money more creative menu is expectable.

We were with nine persons in this very French restaurant and had a very good dinner. We al nine had different things, but everybody was enthusiastic. I choose the king prawns and it tasted very good. The only thing to criticize is that the portion was not very extended. But the others had meat and there that wasn't the case. It is a nice restaurant for a fare price.

Nice atmosphere and good food. Probably not the cheapest place to have dinner but we were impressed with quality and size of the dishes. We had 3 menu's, a "coquelet" (small chicken), a dish with varied grilled meat and my son had a "entrecôte". The menu's came with some grilled vegetables and a piece of rösti. The other items came with vegetables, side salad and fries. The food was good and the deserts were very tasty. The food was served hot and served in a good timing, so no long waits, even with the restaurant quite full. The restaurant allows you to sit in- or outside with a nice view on the valley below with a small animal parc with deer. It has a playroom for children. As with most French restaurants, pets are allowed.

We visit this area quite often and have eaten here numerous times since September 2017. We have never been disappointed. Gérard is an incredibly creative cook, uses the freshest and tastiest foods, usually from the local area. The presentation of the food is immaculate. The highest culinary skills!!! He is a magician with food!!!! Do not be skeptical - like we were at first - because it is located in a supermarket. Once you have eaten there, you will go back. The atmosphere is cozy, very clean, nicely set tables. The service is comparable to any big name hotel, genuinely friendly and caring staff (thanks to Nathalie and all the ladies working there). We are very happy that we discovered this jewel and are planning on many returns.

In spite of that nobody told us to eat here we would like to celebrate our last night in France at this restaurant. It was said that it was a pizzeria, but they had a lot more. The owner, we guess, was a not typical Frenchman, very tall and very friendly. And the dinner was excellent. I ordered a 'wiener schnitzel' and it tasted very good. Next to us there came a large family inside, but they still had attention to us as well. The only thing you need to know is that we were sitting outside and that is next to a very busy road in the city centre of this small town. It didn't bother us, because it was our choice to do so. Besides that it was the only table avalaible. Anyway, we liked it a lot. They spoke very little English, but we speak French, that helps.
