This is a great place 5km from Laguiole, but let's cut to the chase - it is dog-friendly and has a couple of Labradors, so if you are travelling with dogs it's for you - if you don't like dogs, go somewhere else. The price bracket is low, so if you're used to travelling de luxe, it's probably not for you - but for the rest it most certainly is!We had demi-pension (bed, dinner and breakfast) for â¬42 each. Dinner was melon with port, followed by steak and aligot (a local dish, basically smooth cheese and potato mix - yum!), a good cheeseboard and dessert. Truly delicious.Rooms are functional, with just enough space - but they are clean and comfortable. I had a good night's sleep with no sound but the waterfall alongside.Service is excellent and friendly - so give it a try if you're in the area. I'm tempted to take up cross-country skiing just so I can go back!

First day of the holiday so pretty tired and wanted something not too fussy and we got exactly what we needed at Le Cafe Francais. The menu was a good sized salad starter with ham, egg, potato etc then we had a good steak frites followed by a good mousse au chocolat all for the princely sum of 12 euros each. The pichet of wine was very reasonable and the service was friendly and chatty even though it was busy. Nothing fancy but done well.

This place is on the eastern edge of Laguiole. It's conveniently located next to the big free car parking area but don't go for the food. It's mainly a bar and apparently only serves food in summer. The charcuterie du pays dish was a refrigerated plate of pre cut meats that had been sitting in the fridge for hours. As was the salad. But if all you want is a bowl of chips and a beer, then it may be fine for you.

whoa what a place if you like cheeses. The Fromagerie is a very popular place to buy cheeses, you know it is a good one when a lot of locals come to buy theirs. yiu will need to be patient due to the number of people there. In the mean time you can sample the different cheeses. Absolutely great.

Stayed at a chambre d'hôtes nearby and was advised to eat here. It was an excellent recommendation. The staff were friendly and fun, and the locally themed food was amazing! The quality of beef (Aubrac, of course!) was excellent and whether you try the local aligot or the truffade (originating from neighboring Cantal), you will enjoy every bite. Save room and don't bother counting calories during your visit. Eating the regional fare is a true treat and a culinary experience you will want to repeat regularly. I was here for a long weekend with friends and we have eaten there 3 times in 3 days so far (we leave tomorrow so maybe another meal will be there, too!). We had 2 dinners and one lunch. The ambiance is fantastic and the patrons are generally very friendly as well. The nature of the environment seems to make friendliness contagious. You will not go wrong dining here and I suggest you even make a special trip if visiting nearby towns in order to eat here! The one thing I found humorous is that the restaurant is based in Laguiole but they use knives from Spain. To miss eating here would be a tragedy during your visit. Do yourself a favor and plan for it!

Stumbled unexpected to this place on a sunday not knowing where we would be around lunchtime. Friendly welcome, we ended all up in eating a pizza wich was well prepared and delicious. It served the purpose of a quick lunch with a good feeling afterwards.

This restaurant is well located, in front of the Taureau de Laguiole. The staff is very kind, the service efficient and the ambiance great. Obviously, many local habitants use to come here. The food is mostly local and well prepared, which is great, but as in a good brasserie, not a fine restaurant. The aligot is good but not as tasty as one may expect. The Aubrac beef is ok but not as tender as you can find in some other restaurants. Globally, at that price, I give four stars.

This was a lovely restaurant. Not pretentious. The food is of very good quality. Sure to get a Michelin * soon we felt. The service was friendly and helpful.Starters baby artichoke stuffed with crab delicious. Foie Gras equally good. Mains beef of Aubrac a local cattle, which has a good taste served with Aligot a local speciality of the area (pureed potato with garlic, creme fraiche and aligot cheese) delicious but rather rich. Desserts were great too. Everything was beautifully executed and delicious to taste.Sensibly priced varied wine list too.

In charge at Le Suquet since 2009, Sébastien Bras is making new tracks on Aubrac, with the same passion and the same sensibility as his father, Michel. In tune with the rhythms of the seasons, his cooking reflects and transcribes his emotions, inspired by
I haven't had many meals that could match this one--an inimitable blend of originality, elegance, and local flavor. Good service. The dining room is quiet and spacious, with a phenomenal view--nice cocktail lounge, too. This restaurant has voluntarily withdrawn itself from the Michelin guide--don't let that put you off!
