In French you say "Service a la Portuguese" which means Portugese style service. There's plenty, in big platters, it's absolutely delicious and authentic. It's cheap and I wish I could go back tomorrow!!! I had the local Paté(terrine paysanne) which is put on the table in the big ceramic pot is was cooked in. You help yourself to how ever much you feel like and likewise with the homemade cornichons. The it is passed on to the next client. CAN IT GET ANYMORE LOCAL? It was just delicious! For the love of God you MUST try the local aperitif made by Father Vergely (the owning family) called "Joli Coing" it is a Quince liquer served on ice.... YUMMY!!! I bought a whole case to take home in the car.

Not expensive place, so really good quality for the price. Parking next to the hotel on calm road, so looks safe enough. The service is just fantastic and so friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. Very basic, but all good. Restaurant offers a very panoramic view to the river and mountains and suggest to sit outside if weather allows it. The food is well prepared and in expensive.

Short stay. The hotel is in several buildings around the village square. Our small room was above the swimming pool, and renovated some years ago. Friendly staff. The pool was not ready but still enjoyed it at the end of season. We had the half boarding, meaning a dinner with a high calorie count: salad with cheese, main dish loaded with cream and butter and tiramisu. Nice breakfast. Very quiet night.Merci pour votre commentaire.Nous sommes heureux que notre établissement vous ai plu et que vous ayez ou profiter de la piscine qui a cette période de l'année est couverte et chauffées.Merci d'avoir séjourné chez nous la direction

Be sure to scoot round the back of the church and you'll find this wonderful bar/restaurant/music venue/pizzeria. The place is effortlessly cool and friendly. Everyone, including the people serving, seemed passionate about what they do. It's a relaxed spot with picnic tables and a refreshment shack below for afternoon coffees and icecreams, with shady areas set back from the gorgeous river front. They've even got extra parking when the village is chokka. Great food, cute dog, trendy vibes, big shady awning, v welcoming. We clocked it as we canoed past one day, and came back later for a meal. Would definitely go back - maybe for one of their concerts? Thanks L'Eden

The pizzeria is located on the river side of the road bang in the centre of La Malène. There is a large shaded terrace overlooking the river well away from the noise of traffic on the main gorge road. The menu is mainly pizza with a huge variety to choose from plus some other basic Italian meals - tagliatele bolognese, etc. Every pizza is freshly made to order and in May 2014 they cost 10 euros except for the standard margherita which was 8.My initial reaction to the pizza was one of disappointment as the covering seemed to be confined to the centre rather than spread across the entire pizza base. However, the pizza was thin and soft and was a delightful texture so even those parts without the topping were really tasty. An excellent find - take your time and linger over the meal and the ambience of the place. A good place to recover from a boat trip down the Tarn Gorge.

We chose the special of the day for 11 euros: trout, super fresh and delicately prepared. It was accompanied by a tasty vegetable dish, good cuisine; not tourist food! The service was good and the staff welcoming and helpful. It was a sunny day so we ate in the outside patio which gave a great view of the cliffsHighly recommend and would return again

This was a gem of a place! We stopped for lunch and ate off the a la Carte although they also had a great formule menu. The service was spot on - friendly and modest. The food was great - fresh, tasty and very well-presented. Pretty courtyard and the inside was lovely too.
