Stopped there on a whim on our way to somewhere else! We were very pleased with the â¬13.90 set menu which was excellent value. The roast mackerel was very tasty and included in the price was a small carafe of wine! Definitively worth stopping!

We went to this small restaurant on recommendation. The atmosphere was warm and friendly with a good buzz of happy customers. The quality of the seafood and the cooking was exemplary. Absolutely superb with a clever lightness of touch.The St Pierre filet was cooked beautifully with delicious fresh young vegetables. Dessert was simple and precise!Impeccable as they say in France......we will be returning soon!

We were visiting the Ile d'Oléron for the second time and decided to try this restaurant because of its convenient location right in the heart of the Cotinière. Our server, Maryline, was very friendly and smiley, instantly making us feel welcome. The food did not disappoint, either. I had the curry moules frites (very generous on the sauce!) and my husband had the sampler platter with a variety of different seafood options. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back again with friends for lunch the next day!Dear Sir, dear Madam,A big thank you for taking the time to write these few words,I will not fail to share your feedback with Marilyne and kitchen teams. Really good food, fairly priced, interesting choices all 3 times visited. The chicken with creamy spiced sauce with quinoa was delicious. So was the beef with pasta. Open all year round. Well worth seeking out. Lovely garden at the back and often has live music. Could be warmer if youâre sitting at the back of the room in winter next to the glass doors-but if youâre visiting in Summer this wonât be an issue. A lovely place.

Thank you trip advisor for pointing to this great little restaurant serving up delicious treats using local produce. We stopped here before exploring the island and used it as a coffee break (with a couple of lovely French tarts : butter salted caramel and strawberry). The owner could see us working out the route and offered us help between cooking oysters on a giant smoker in the garden. He spent over 15 minutes telling us about the island, the ecosystems, the places that tourists never venture but are the gems of the island that only the locals know. He told us how to get the best view of Fort Boyard (from a beach that was so secluded it was empty). While this was happening, planks of meats and fish were going back and forth from the smoker and it looked amazing! We decided we must return later on in the stay to try it. For such a busy little place we were so grateful to Simon for helping us make the most of our stay. A real example of French hospitality and from what we could see delicious food!!

Good fish but not well prepared, too greasy and oily. In my opinion far too expensive for what it is. Drinks are also tricky, "bière: demi 4â¬" literally "beer: half" surprisingly turns out to be a tiny 25cl. If you really want 50cl be ready to pay 7â¬bonjour en france le demi = 25 cl pas une arnaque une loi!!!mr vexer a pas su comprendre ça du coup déçu sur tout pas cool pour un beau maigre cuit au beurre échalote dans l'assiette la valeur d'une demi cuillère de beurre avec ses échalotes,?dur la vie de critique culinaire!!

We stopped here for a late lunch and had a simple yet delicious ham omlette and savoury galette. Then came back in the evening for salad and waffles. Good size portions, simple and solid. It's also off the beaten path in la Cotiniere, just down a quaint little alley which means it's less of a tourist trap and has a more intimate, chilled out feel. Would recommend

The food is good, in particular the burgers, and a good variety of beers. The service is nice, but a bit disorganized, although the restaurant was not fully booked. We had to wait for some time before ordering and getting served (and got served before the table next to us who had ordered first, they were not best pleased...), with a mistake in our order. But the service is nice and they tried to re-arranged things nicely. Some improvements in their service organization would make them much better...

We managed to get a table at lunchtime without a reservation and were looking forward to some fine dining. However we were disappointed, the service let this place down. They had different waiters coming to the table, when you asked for something you had to ask again two or three times a real shame. Although the food was very good, we would sadly think twice before going again. They had enough staff but no system to the way they looked after their tables.What a shame that upon departure you did not tell me anything about this "terrible" service and above all you let us know that your meal was a nice moment... ! Better to hide behind your screen ?
