Wasn't expecting too much from a hotel restaurant but what a surprise. We had the 4 course prix-fixe menu at â¬24.90. Started with an amuse bouche which was totally unexpected then had ballotine of duck (more like a terrine) but 3 large pieces (too much in actual fact) with pickled veg, followed by cod loin - again a generous portion - served with potatoes and veg. 3rd up was a selection of cheeses and last but not least was dessert. My husband had the crane brûlée and I had the nougat glacé. We shared a bottle of Macon Lugny and even had a cheeky glass of red each with the cheese course. All in all the bill was â¬85 incl service. We almost rolled out of the restaurant!! Superb food, service and value for money.

We were staying in nearby accomodation and were looking for a restaurant for diner. We picked up an advertising leaflet in the Berck tourist office and went to check the place before booking for the same evening. We first had drinks outside on the terrace, service was efficient and pleasant. We were presented with the menus, we went for the "confiance menu", changed everyday based on fresh market produces. We choose cheese instead of dessert. We went inside for diner, the place is beautiful inside, full of character. Our table was in a small room; nicely decorated and overlooking a lovely garden. Diner went well, bread was freshly made, delicious. Food was really good and well presented. As requested we got a selection of local cheeses, which were named for us by the waitress. Only "negative" point, once given the bill, nobody showed up to record our payment. We finally went to the reception. Maybe a bit overpriced for the area. We did not see the reviews before, just as well. Overall we had a very nice evening and enjoyed our experience.

Firstly, this place is called La Mouette. We spent sometime looking for somewhere called Au Gre Du Vent, gave up, ate somewhere awful, then rechecked the name and location on TripAdvisor! The restaurant is lovely, with a nice ambience, friendly, helpful staff, quick service and clean toilets! The menu has a great selection of regional specialities, typical french dishes, seafood and meat. The food was all really well cooked, fresh and tasty and the portions were ENORMOUS! Annoyingly so, as we were too stuffed for pudding and they looked fab! We had a beautiful flamiche for starter and very tasty osso bucco for main.Would happily go back.

Ideally located in the main street of the resort, L'Alcyone is a restaurant owned by the same family since its creation in 1995. Traditional dishes such as mussels fries or recipes of meat and fish are added with pizzas and burgers for more diversity. The
three of us, all had good food. It was surprisingly good and local food in generous portions.good value wine (a lovely rose for £10.20)really charming service... with helpful information about local dishes..Some genuine hospitality which we really appreciated on a cold wintry night in a deserted summer resort!

Met with a couple o friends for an evening meal. An excellent experience. We all ate from the â¬23 menu and has the soup, seafood platter, smoked salmon and ficelle - all very good. For main course we had the bavette (2), ray and the moules; again all excellent. Deserts were also up to the same high standard, the pear to be particularly recommended. Service was excellent as was the cleanliness of the restaurant It was a wet Monday evening in May so not the busiest but the ambience was till not at all bad. Great value, â¬140 all in, including wine and coffee... To be recommended!

We had an excellent meal, interesting and well presented. The dining room was very pleasant. We were most disappointed by the service - our aperitifs were forgotten, unprofessional attitude of some of the staff, the red wine was very cold and there was an error in the bill. Apart from that, it was value for money.

Having been thwarted by the Brasserie l'Esplanade a few doors down being closed we found ourselves in l'Hippocampe and what an unexpected delight it turned out to be. The plat du jour was faux fillet bearnaise and excellent value at â¬9.50. Service was polite and efficient but warmed up to nice and friendly as the meal went on. I suppose these restaurants see so many tourists passing through that hospitality isn't seen as being as important as it is in a local neighbourhood restaurant relying on repeat custom. However we left very pleasantly surprised at just how good the meal had been and encouraged by the smiles that eventually shone through. The favourable reviews on Trip Advisor are well justified and we will certainly return.

This seems to be a well established restaurant , family owned .We had a great dinner there. We went on the recommendation of local people. It was a very nice culinary experience. We were in this area of northern france to have nice seafood as it is close to the sea and the local restaurateurs are very proud to offer their gret sea products. We were very happy with food , which was very tasty and delivered at a good pace not too slow or fast. The wines were classic french like Muscaet / Sancerre and Chablis and some varietal by the glass like sauvignon and chardonnay from the pays d oc .The room wasn t very busy. The atmosphere was very relaxed in the winter , the room very nicely decorated and feeling warm. The service was very attentive.Highly recommended.
