The reestaurant doesn't have fancy décoration but people there are very welcoming and smiling. The traditional dishes such as Garbure and Poule au Pot , on Sundays as the king Henry IV wished for. The cheese is as expected and the deserts , so tasty.Un délice!Worth a détour and after a long walk to enjoy the view.French traditional cuisine still exists.

This restaurant has a really lovely view of the Pyrenees. While we arrived on a gray fall day, it was still a really good aspect and made our lunch quite enjoyable. We had their gravure, which turned out to be a very large tureen with a soup containing carrots, potatoe slices, tiny beans, savoy cabbage, onions and some tomatoes. It was delicious as was our entree of trout, served with rice, ratatouille and a wonderful sauce of butter, cream and wine. One of us finished with the cheese course which had wonderful local cheese. This was a nice way to sample what I suspect was typical cuisine of the area The service was fine although they were very rushed because it was a very busy lunch crowd.

No doubt this is the best restaurant in Gourettes which unfortunately does not have much competition as much of it are pizza and crepe shops. On the other hand, this hotel/restaurant serve good Bearnaise cousine starred by their signature Garbure soup/stew with a duck leg. Crepes and omelettes with a side of fresh greens are excellent. Salads supplemented with meats are excellent and abundant with extremely fresh greens. The wine and beer selection is good and the service too and multilingual. The restaurant at least in Summertime is in the ground floor bar area surrounded by large windows and their pastoral views with the roaming Pyrenean cows and sheep famous for their cheese. The manager and service are multilingual and extremely friendly and efficient.Dear martinezcm, it's a real pleasure to discover your nice opinion on our restaurant : A big thank you for your visit and your kindness.

Service was friendly and fairly fast. We sat outside on the terrace which opens up to the main, circular road of in Laruns - a very nice atmosphere. I ordered a salad with toasted bread and melted goat cheese. It was very good. The fries, however, we're the big hit at our table.

We went here on a really sunny day which was lucky because from the restaurant terrace we could see miles of mountains all around. It was stunning. Enjoyed a really nice goat cheese salad for lunch and my boyfriend had tender lamb with veggies. The meal sizes were hearty and we could enjoy a nice walk in the surrounding region after lunch. Staff were friendly - spoke English which helped

We are not really pancake lovers but this restaurant looked nice from outside, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant looks very different from any other small french restaurants we visited in the villages, it is very nicely decorated with African paintings. We decided to go for the "galette", a thin pancake made of "farine de ble noir" which is actually buckwheat, a grain that is far more healthier than white flour. It looked very interesting and it was. I ordered a galette with cheese and tomato and it was very tasty. I have been reading a lot of negative reviews but we had a different experience. I haven't seen the boss, but the lady who helped us was very nice and spoke very well English, so no complaints there.
This seemed to be the only restaurant open in Eaux Bonnes when we were there in winter. We simply ordered the set menu but the food was so copious and brilliant that we could have both shared.A hearty, family meal sized duck soup was my starter, whilst my wife had the caramelised foie gras and salad (also generous). The mains were lambâs brains and beef with potatoes and beetroot.Dessert was exquisite with home-made ice creams and vitrified chocolate domes with suitably well-made coffees. The service was impeccable, we were made to feel very welcome and the meal was around â¬33. Would most certainly eat there again!!

Good and served by nice people. Seems that people here understand they do a beautiful job: serve good crepes (galette is the word when they are salty) with a smile. Me like it! My girls to!

L'Escapade is very nicely furnished and the large garden most attractive. The food we had was perfectly cooked and delicious. The three course deal which we had was excellent value. The wine was very reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient. This French restaurant is outstanding in a town which seems to have a concentration of pizza restaurants!
