Finally got round to eating here. The restaurant is from the "belle époque".Warm and cozy.Service is excellent and attentive. The "patron" is very present and takes pride in his business.Loved the starters.Excellent mussle emulsion, velouté,soupe de poisson and Tomme salad. The main courses were as follows:Good filet de Boeuf. Okay scallops.Rendered a bit of water. Excellent Fish filet. Unfortunately the Filet de Perches were not up to the mark.Greasy and not very appealing.Shame because its really an easy local dish. The julienne de legumes were lovely, fresh and crisp.A great place to go and deserves every bit of praise you read.

Creperie, salads, ice cream, specialty teas and infusions
The crepes menu is more than minimal and the quality of the crepes (and of their filling) is very bad. Plus, the restaurant decoration is very basic and not comfortable. In one word: avoid this place.madam, or sir, you did not like our creperie's decoration, it is your right, but I can not let you say wrong things, our menu is served generously, and most importantly, we use quality products, prosciutto, ham and sausages are selected by us, from Haute-Savoie, the cheeses are also selected by us, from Jura, sauces are not industrial but homemade as the chocolate sauce and jams. The ice creams are crafted in Jura; our coffee is probably the best in Divonne-les-Bains, we also offer the range of Nespresso coffees, teas and our infusions are our top quality, we also have local and organic beers; you see that our main concern for the last 70 years is the quality and the most correct possible prices.I'd be happy to show you all of this if you have honesty to kindly check it yourself, my best regards. Mr Dubois

We had heard about this restaurant many times. We were lucky to get a table one Saturday night. It's a nice simple looking but cosy place hidden in the village of Grill, just across the border near Divonne. Very friendly and professional service. The choice is not enormous but absolutely sufficient. Seasonal food. Delicious. Modern and traditional well combined. There are 3 or 4 suggested menus. They come with an apero snack and then an amuse bouche. Starter: The scampi was heavenly tender and very special. Main: The lamb divine. Wonderful desert. I liked it that you can have small bottles of wine and all the good wines also by the glass. All very reasonably priced. We'll definitely come again, .. and again.

We had a good meal here, but not as good as we were hoping. The service was excellent, staff attentive and helpful but the menu was quite small and the prices high for what it was and the food was a bit disappointing

Auberge du Vieux Bois is nestled in the forest in Divonne-les-Bains, France. We invited family members to celebrate my husband's and my sister-in-law's birthdays. Everyone chose from the à la carte menu, although the daily special was Reblochon cheese fondue. The restaurant was very busy on this Sunday - reservations are required on weekends, suggested otherwise.Perfectly prepared sole meunière, fine steaks, attractive and fairly-priced fixed menus, (almost too) bountiful salads for appetizers ... we "ate like God in France".Our nephew's sons attend a college specializing in preparation for working in the hotel and restaurant industry. His youngest son asked if he could choose the red wine - gladly, we said! He picked a very fine red, a Côtes du Nuits (75 cl, 38.00 â¬). The rosé was an easy choice, Château Olivette (35.00 â¬) from Bandol, where our niece lives - and already known to us from visits there. The two youngest of our guests proved to be the most adventurous in ordering - fricasse d'escargot and terrine de fois gras as appetizers. Hotel College obviously agrees with them - they definately know about the finest foods in France.Ah, the desserts. Let's start with the best pear sorbet ever. Again, the choices are diverse - from a very generous serving of profiteroles to delicate sorbets you can order by the "boule", or scoop. We tried quite a few desserts - forks and spoons were in constant use as desserts made the rounds at our table. Now for the best recommendation a guest can give: We enjoyed Auberge du Vieux Bois so much that four of us returned for lunch later in the week. The restaurant deserves five stars! The staff members were most attentive on both visits - well-schooled too. The only suggestion we have is more appropriate clothing for the service team.

The perfect french steak house. Unique menu : Salade to start, Piece of french beef charolais, served with the delicious sauce Mademoiselle and home made french fries on a side. Different sizes for the beef. Vegetarian option available. All home made with
à cosy little restaurant with a unique menu (steak with herb/garlic sauce, French fries and salad). So nothing for vegetarian :-). But otherwise everything is nice, good, homemade (including desert) and not expensive. Mentioning also a very nice and attentive service. Highly recommended!

Impressive! Very fine food and flavors. Creative presentations and a wonderful team providing a really professional service. Highly recommended. Great service even though we were a large table and chose different dishes. Wine recommendations were perfect to accompany the selected dishes. This is one of the best restaurants in this area. No doubt about that.

We have been at this restaurant already a couple of times and we always had an enjoyable meal. The food is good, the dishes are made with fresh ingredients and they seemed to change based on the season! The service was very good with young waiters that helped out in the choice and in meeting our needs. There's a nice terrace outside where to eat in the summer which makes you feel in the nature! Hello, Meny thanks for your great message. We hope to see you soon. Best regards.
