Things to do in Crest

A local in Crest pointed us in the direction of this little restaurant. We would never have stumbled across it! Now I am looking forward to another visit. The produce was amazingly fresh and tasty, and served in no time flat by a charming young lady. Maybe the owner? I can highly recommend the vegetarian platter, which included divine home made chips. My husband can also vouch for the charcuterie platter, but indeed everything we saw looked yummy. Full marks to an unusual little restaurant. Several wines are available by the glass and we chose the dearest, a Vacqueras, which was excellent, but there were others from 2.10 a glass.

Amazing array of cliques which are like a potato rosti base with various toppings. Simple but tasty. Really fast friendly service without table turning.

The gates of the Drome Provencale, The Globe offers a cuisine with southern accents with fresh products. Chef Bruno Cotte shares his passion for cooking and uses creative talent with fish, meat and vegetables in season.
The Globe is... fun. It's "real". Sadly, it is ONLY open for lunch, but it's a place not to be missed. On Saturdays (market day), reservations are essential, and you'll be rubbing shoulders with half of the town, crowded around the bar.But the restaurant - and the terrace in summer - are separate and the staff efficient. So let's talk about the food. First, it's good, it's varied, and it's attractive. There is always a set menu, and you can choose from starter, main course and dessert or any combination of the three. If it doesn't tempt you (and on a dozen or so visits I've never refused to try what was offered), there are always steaks, salads, etc.Yes, the choice is limited but the menus are SO varied and beautifully presented, it never gets repetitive. And what better to choose than something the chef has bought (usually locally) and prepared according to what takes his fancy. There are typical brasserie dishes, others with a little more fantasy, but always with several wonderful fresh vegetables (often made into tartlets or flans). The desserts? Also stunning and varied.Yes, I enthuse about the place and partly because it is, in my opinion, the best quality, the best value and best atmosphere in Crest - and it's also a fun place where you see not tourists (well, a few) but the locals, many of whom eat their regularly... because they know where to get the best. PS - great kids' menus too, and a corner with books for kids.Maybe one warning - on busy lunchtimes it can be a bit noisy, particularly inside (the terrace is better and great view of the square).

This is an attractive relaxed little restaurant serving savoury and sweet crepes. There is a good range of dishes to choose from, including nice vegetarian options. A great array of fun specialty dessert crepes too. Nice seating area outside as well as space indoors. Very friendly service.

Crest is pretty short of restaurants, and we were delighted to try this one (and already two visits). And what a great discovery it was!I am really surprised that one reviewer was so disappointed because the quality is just *so* good, and the attitude so friendly that I think any constructive comments would be well taken. The prices? Absolutely in line with the quality, I would say. No menu for children? OK, perhaps they could add the usual slice of ham or mini-burger and fries, but I don't see this as essential. Again, I'm quite sure the owners would cater happily for kids on request - I've seen a couple of them in there who seemed fine NOT to be eating the usual kids' fare. Special note for the risotto (perfect) and the quality of the lamb (it just melted). Definitely one to go back to, and with great pleasure.

I have been to many michelin stars and this one star is amongst my absolute favorites. Foie gras, duck, fish- beautiful presentation, creative, imaginative, skillful- delicious. The goat cheese medley at the end was fantastic- so delicious and creative. Chef even meets guests! Easy location. Beautiful dining space. Waiter staff and sommelier were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. A wonderful evening and definitely worth any detour

Pleasant ambience, efficient service, decent cooking at a fair price for the area. What is not to like? The food was good, arguably a tad fussy (past a certain point, extra ingredients and bits and bobs detract rather than add to one's enjoyment) but very acceptable.Worth reserving as it gets very busy at weekends and holiday peaks
