In Combourg recently and visited this place on 2 occasions. It was previously known as Moustache and we had previously been, but now there are new owners. Had Gallettes both times and they were delicious but each time we were left waiting for approx 30 minutes. One of the days was a fete day so in fairness it was busy but they just didn't have enough staff and couldn't cope. The customers were just being ignored for long periods. We saw people get up and walk out on both occasions. The decor was very simple furniture and very dated. The lady owner (blonde hair) seemed lazy and arrogant and so was the male barman

Found this place using our 'let's take the next on the right and see where we end up' system. Wasn't disappointed. Small bistro run by the owner who cooks all his food on the premises. Small menu, but that wasn't a problem - moules frites or faux filets frites does it for me, and my faux filet was one of the best I've had. SWMBO had a very tasty veggy flan, having been tempted away from a meat dish by our hosts helpful description. We were torn between common sense and wanting to try the homemade sweets: problem solved by the 'gourmet cafe' - a half portion of sweet with coffee. Pleasant venue, host happy to speak enough English, tolerate my French, and was in no hurry to close whilst we chatted after our meal despite us delaying him. Not expensive. Well worth a visit.

Whilst we did not stay in the Hotel we had dinner in the restaurant. Food was acceptable but nothing special and extremely overpriced. Ordinary steaks very stringy and chewy.Very pleasant to sit in and the staff were efficient and speak fluent English. We are regular visitors to this area but we definitely would not eat here again. The hotels rooms seem quite expensive for the general area.

We visited early on a weekday evening and ate inside as rain was threatening. There were quite a few tables already occupied but the two young waitresses acknowledged us and seated us promptly. Whilst they clearly spoke English well, we we were able to order in French. Food arrived without undue delay and was plentiful and well presented and cooked. This restaurant is not just pizza but offers quite a few other dishes too.Overall we thought that it was good value for money and had a relaxed atmosphere. We would eat here again.

This restaurant is run by a great couple ans all the pizzas are made by hand. Past was very good and really well priced. We were well looked after and because they did not have a bottle of wine that we wanted they supplied two haf bottles for the price of a bottle. Small but nice touch. Most places just say no. This is the place for a fast quality pasta.

We were staying in a B&B in a village nearby and our hostess suggested we try for an evening meal in Combourg. We found this restaurant just outside the village with quite a dramatic view across the lake to the castle of Combourg. The restaurant describes itself as a creperie and a place for grills. That is just what it is but the food is very nice there within these limits and we can recommend it. This is supported by the fact that it is quite popular, the place being fairly crowded. That said we went fairly early and they squeezed us in. The staff are friendly and some speak a little English. As to Combourg, it is a pleasant unspoilt Breton village with one or two hotels, plus the castle and its gardens.

The restaurant is only a couple of minutes walk from the town square, It is situated adjacent to the chateau of Combourg with the dining rooms overlooking a scenically pretty lake. My wife and I both chose the 26.5 euro three course menu which started with a complimentary mise en bouche. Our meals were served to perfection by two charming waitresses who allowed us to practise our french whilst they in turn practised their english. Our lunch was a very leisurely experience with plenty of time between courses to discuss all the excellent points of the course just thoroughly enjoyed. A perfectly enjoyable meal and experience, based on which my wife and I have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to others.thank you so much, we were very pleased to recieve you,and of course we appreciate your comments.see you a next timebest regardsclaire
