We found it very expensive, especially considering that the menu was very monotonous and the quality of the food was not so exceptional. Probably they keep the prices high because it is the only open restaurant in the area in that season...The waitresses were friendly and polite, but the service was very slow. They speak almost only French. They know just a few English words.

Being a Serge Viera establishment we visited this restaurant for dinner on a quiet Sunday night. A smaller menu than the Chouffour but nonetheless very good food indeed. Portion size could be bigger but presentation and cuisine made up for this. Service very good in nice riverside surroundings.

Stopped here on a trip to buy Laguiole knives at source. We were a bit late and half the diners had finished and we were told that the chef had to go in 15 minutes but we could stay if we took what was available and were very glad we did. An excellent pitcher of house wine, home made pate, delicious and authentic knuckle of pork in Puy lentils followed by a home made chausson de pommes with top quality pastry. The cooking seemd to come from an earler, better era and best of all, the bill (â¬26 for two!) seemed to come from ages past as well. The restaurant is part of a association called Restauratrices d'Auvergne, which connects the female chefs of the Auvergne and if the Moulin des Templiers is anything to go by, they will all be worth visiting.Although trip advisor and the guides list it under Chaudes Aigues, i's actually about 6kms south on the D921, near Jabrun.

If you read my posts here you might be questioning my opinions. However, I use Tripadvisor to eat and sleep when I am on the road; therefore the places I enjoy are those already enjoyed by others.Positives of this place: apart from the wonderful food, service, ambience, and music, the chef was around at our table asking about us, and the food.it was an experience. Admittedly it was a relatively quiet off season evening. However, this place is simply very good. So good we went back the next day for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised that one the menu for dessert was an Australian dessert Pavlova! A great way to finish off 2 really enjoyable meals in a town not known to many overseas tourists (so Im told)Good Morning, First of all, we would like to thank you for giving your opinion about our restaurant. It is always good to know more about people from other countries and culinary cultures. We like the fact that you have appreciated the place as well as the food and other parts of the service. We will welcome you with pleasure if you choose to come over Chaudes-Aigues in the months coming.Best RegardsThe Coin d'Aubrac staff

Great creativity in fine food. Also, presentation of dishes and the little "a coté" along your dinner offer were simply outstanding. A better experience than the 3 stars' Michelin we did a few days later...We also spent the night in one of the three bedrooms they have. A must! Outstanding location...
