I don't usually write a bad review, but having chosen this restaurant based on all the wonderful reviews I feel compelled to share our experience. We were in the area for a week and this was by far the most disappointing experience we had.The host was a genial and jovial, hard working lady - we wanted to like the place. We chose a fish dish. Everything on the plate, fish, vegetables were way way overcooked. to almost a mush. The dessert afterwards, a tart was ok. For the price, in our experience you will get much better quality elsewhere.

We stopped here for a hot chocolate and a cold and windy day. It seemed like a nice family place as there were a few families with children. The desserts looked wonderful. They have table service. They were friendly and fast. The chocolate was good. The atmosphere was rather plain, but fine for the kind of restaurant it is. They have outdoor seating but this was not the day for it :)

This hotel restaurant has been newly decorated and feels cool, relaxing and luxurious as you enter. It was spotlessly clean, although there were a few troublesome flies around. The service was faultless, making you feel special and respected, without being obsequious. The young waiters both spoke a little English and were patient with our French. They were more than helpful over my food allergies, explaining the contents of dishes and negotiating alternatives with the chef. The food was imaginative (melon soup with Chantilly!) tasty and plentiful. Our two-course menu only cost E19 each - a real bargain.

Not haute cuisine but a nice place for a snack lunch on a sunny day. The restaurant is on the front overlooking the river, so it is nice to enjoy a snack or a drink and watch the boats go by,

Been in Caudebec en caux now for over a month on business, and believe me when I say this is the place to go to eat. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere and some good music playing all the time. The food is amazing in taste, quality, portion size, and price. You have to try it, but be warned it is a popular place and sometimes you might have to wait, but good things come to those who do. If you like wraps, burgers, platters and amazing double fried homemade chips, then trust me when I say this is the place for you. I have eaten here at least four times a week and I am still not bored of it. The owner is super friendly and always willing to accommodate for anything you require. I rarely give five star ratings but this is deserved for this great little place. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as me and my colleagues have done. Thanks Croquette Express!

It is a smallish restaurant, and upon arrival it was full so we were looking forward to eating in the evening. The menus were not really what we wanted, so we ended up with the most expensive which meant the food was far too rich - I thought the chocolate millefeuille would be pastry but it was 3 large thick slabs of chocolate interspersed with a mint cream - far too sickly. Service was food but we were disappointed especially after the fiasco with our room!

Stumbled across this restaurant (which is actually in Seine Maritime, not Val de Loire), and decided to book a table a couple of nights later. Unbelievedly welcoming - the owner shakes your hand on arriving/leaving, and shows a genuine concern that you are enjoying the meal. A simple range of options, but everything is homemade, and everything we had, and all we saw others eating, was fresh and of excellent quality. It being February, there was a log fire burning, and the general ambience was great. I would recommend booking, as they were almost full when we left (it was a Friday evening). Prices were very reasonable - 22 Euro for two courses, rising to 32 Euros for four. I would totally recommend this restaurant.

A quite charming restaurant in this small town on the river. Pleasant decor of country French with appropriate modern touches. An obvious favorite of locals. Has a nice varied selection of Normandy favorites and seasonal delights. We enjoyed meal crepes w crisp edges and tasty desert crepes. Yummy. ...
