Unbelievably inefficient, poor and unfriendly service. Avoid at all costs. The girls serving were too young to be allowed to serve wine. So we had to wait. Then we werenât able to pay with card. So we paid in cash. The change they gave was almost all in coins. When we didnât accept that another wait. This would have been manageable if the staff were polite. They were not.

Very good tapas food and very reasonably priced. Staff very welcoming. Only black mark was that it was full of smokers! Should have noticed the ashtrays on every table. Apparently legal to smoke as the dining area is not a permanent structure. Regrettably will not be returning.

This is one of our favourite places to visit when we come to Casteljaloux. We have mainly eaten at lunch, 12-2, and had the plat du jour or one of the pasta dishes. They do amazing pizzas and salads too - the goats cheese salad is gorgeous and huge. It's great to sit outside and watch the busy town of Casteljaloux pass you by. Market day is always a good day to visit as it is busy and you get a real feel of the local town. We have eaten in the evening here once and it was lovely inside. Service is excellent. We try to speak French and order in French and the waiters let us do that even though they know we are northerners from England! A great place, highly recommended.

This restaurant has changed hands ( and cuisine ) regularly over the last ten years and is now run by a very friendly couple ( Christoph and Nadia ) who have opened a popular and very good pasta restaurant. What sets it apart is that the pasta is freshly made on the premises. And it is very good indeed. There are not too many choices but what there is is fantastic. There is a choice of penne or tagliatelle and about half a dozen choices of sauce. We chose the blue cheese and chicken sauce which is superb. Wines are reasonably priced and the house wines , served in carafes , are very easy to drink. Christoph cooks and Nadia serves and it's a very good combo. Their only problem will be staffing a full restaurant given its popularity. Thoroughly recommend for a good reasonably priced meal if pasta is your thing.

We've been back twice already since moving back down here in Feb, and I'm about to book for another visit. Can honestly say I've never been disappointed - and nor have the many guests we've taken there. It's good food based on local ingredients, but with an international touch that makes it more appealing for British visitors. and I am surprised that one review mentioned unhelpful staff - we've always found quite the opposite - charming and helpful.

I know I have reviewed this restaurant before , but it's even better than ever ; Last Friday we took 51 friends out for the evening ,( wife's biggish birthday ) for us they closed the restaurant ; We knew from past experences that all would be well, as you do not go to those lengths and expence if you are not sure :Then last evening was St Valentines , a group of 10 of us returned for what I can only say was the most amazing meal ever and at ⬠70 inc wine it really was excellant ;With these number there is usually someone who was too happy with something or the other ; not one bad comment from any of them and some are know to be difficult !!!!!!I have no idea how one's goes about getting these ratings , but they deserve it
