Things to do in Bressuire

Located on the far side of the station this converted train/carriage shed is very unusual. featuring two redundant old fashioned French railway cars each sticking out of the building , one serving as the sleeping quarters ,the other as a restaurant car. Whilst very clean our 2 sleeping compartments were very tight. our twin boys of 10 thought it was great, however as adults we found the bunk beds very small in terms of width and our overall space very confining. With just one toilet for the whole carriage located at the end of the car, night time was a problem. The modern showers were located on a mezzazine floor in the main shed again not very convienient, the french owners were very nice, the breakfast basic, french, but quite adequate. A fun place to stay and very easy for Le Puy du Fou 30 minutes away. 2 nights was enough, but only because of the compartment size. Excellent free parking on site as well.

We really like to eat at Cote Jardin. Everything is good and there is a choice for everyone, young and not so young, veggies, gourmands....oh, and you have to drink cider from a teacup - it's a 'thing'.

Talking (through the open windows) to the staff who were setting tables, I was surprised to learn that lunch was not served - not the welcome 7 hungry travellers expected on a Saturday in the peak tourist season. And this is a hotel?Good eveningWe are really sorry not to be open on this lunch following the 15th of august but we was preparing ours dinner and very buzy sunday . We just remind you we are open 6 days a week during all the year without closing time . You had just the bad chance to come one of ours closing lunch .About the hotel it was open but already full on this day Best regardsthe manager

Good choice of dishes , very good fish.... service was excellent . This was the hardest working staff I have ever seen in a restaurant. They were seating people to table at midnight as we were leaving. !
Nous avons voulu essayer ce restaurant assez original et nous ne sommes pas déçu ! Lieu sympathique, plats fait avec des produits frais ainsi que la gérante très accueillante et très à l'écoute ! Je recommande !

We found the restaurant by chance looking for something to eat in Bressuire on our way home from Nantes Airport.Good service, swift arrival of tartiflette and burger. Lovely Saumur blanc bio wine and husband had his favourite Affligem. Will definitely go again.

Set high up on the side of a hill overlooking the 18th hole, sitting on the terrace on a warm summer evening is the perfect end to the week. Good choice of delicious food. Whether you try the menu decouverte or plump for a salad or burger, it is all delicious and beautifully presented. One if our group opted for the burger. Forget McDonalds! This is gourmet dinning. Homemade bread surrounded a shredded beef steak. Home made twice cooked skin-on frees and huge side salad. All arriving on a wooden platter. The rest if os went for the menu decouverte. Foie gras with an apricot chutney and takaki of beef for others ( lightly cooked thin slices of beef with a delicious red pepper sorbet and salad). Mains were pigeon with another delicious home made sauce ( sorry cant remember what it was but it was fabulous) and duck breast with yet another fab sauce, this time orange but with a meaty twang. Desserts were raspberry creme brûlée, chocolate pudding with a soft center ( very light) or a cheeseboard with 5 different cheeses. The staff are delightful. Efficient, friendly and patient - we had a 10 month old infant with us in a pushchair. Furniture was moved around to accommodate us. This restaurant may be 50 minutes from where we live but we will be going back again, hopefully soon. Basically, excellent food in a lovely setting and at a very reasonable price. Well done Le Cygn

We are a family of 6 with a 1 year old who have struggled to find little restaurants to treat ourselves from cooking every night in our holiday home in montcoutant - until finding this place. Set in Bressuire, it was easy for us to get too, and the setting was beautiful. You had a choice of sitting inside or outside, and either way there was plenty of space for us all. The staff were friendly and very good English. The food was incredible! The only thing they didnât have on the menu was mussels! Everything was home made and fresh. The presentation had been thought about just as much as this flavors. It is a place well worth visiting and we will definitely go back - Thankyou.

Walked in to an empty restaurant at 8pm but soon filled up. Had set menu, which had 3 fish, 3 meat choices for mains. Without sounding like a Masterchef judge, they really understood flavours and presentation was superb (particularly the starters)..............!Outstanding
