The array of restaurants around the main square of Bastogne makes any decision to enter baffling! We choose this one as it had the most clientele already at the tables - a kind of rookie logic! Great card including a choice of fixed menus reasonable prices. All very tasty served by friendly staff. Give it a go!

Yes, another of the several restaurants surrounding MacAuliffe Square in Bastogne. It was a Monday, so several were closed leaving us with fewer choices. My wife noticed a shrimp pasta dish on the outside menu listing that sounded good to her, so we decided to give it a try. I wasnât expecting too much, being located on the square, but was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the menu is in French, the staff appears to speak only French, which is generally the case in this part of Belgium, but, we made do as best we could as did the staff. It is their country after all, so...when in Rome! My wife ordered the scampi pasts and I went for their special âBig Burgerâ. Both dishes were actually excellent! Big surprise! Service was OK by Bastogne standards...slow by American standards. But, again, we are in their country, so no problem. We did not know, but they also gave us a small soup (tasted like an Italian tomato soup if that makes any sense), and was hot, creamy and also excellent. Nice touch to be sure. The portion sizes were such that we had no room for dessert, so I cannot comment on desserts. Would we return...yes, based on our first visit, yes.

Brasserie de style Horta, le 1900 vous propose une cuisine typiquement Belge et 100% fait maison, des produits frais de qualité spécialement choisi pour finir dans vos assiettes. Nous vous proposons également un vaste choix de bières et cocktails. Cuisine
We stayed in Bastogne for five nights and dined in five different restaurants â Le 1900 was by far the best restaurant we tried. The food was superb. Melon and local ham to start, giant skewers of steak (see photo) which was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, and profiteroles to finish the meal. Everything was delicious. The meal was washed down with our favourite Belgian beer, Duvel. The service was attentive, polite and very friendly. Both waiters who served us spoke good English and we had no problem translating the menu. There was certainly a good choice of dishes. We will certainly eat at Le 1900 next time we visit Bastogne.

The owner of the house we had recommended this restaurant. It is not very inviting from the outside but once in, very cosy. You have t pass the bar and then you have the restaurant. Good an honest food with enough local influences to love it. The wine list is not extremely large for a wine bar. Consider it as a good local restaurant that pretends to be a wine bar.Hidden but definitely worth a visit

We stopped here after a morning of touring the Belgium Barracks and Tank museum. It was lunch and extremely packed. I'm sure our huge group didn't help matters. This place is right down the street from McAuliffe square. Great location, we had a picked menu and I don't remember exactly what we had but it was good.. The beer was good too, what ever kind that was. Overall OK, but great location

This is an excellent restaurant which is a very short walk from the town centre and behind a petrol station in a small, but pleasant building. Don't let the location put you off as this restaurant is well worth seeking out.The restaurant is simply, but sophisticatedly decorated and I was eating with a group of colleagues. The menu is excellent, with sufficient choices rather than too many and my froie gras starter and pork main were excellent as was my fruit soup pudding. Good wines and coffee were also served. The staff were all excellent. If in the area I would strongly recommend.

The restaurant has a great history, starting out as a train caterer and so the train is the general theme. It has the capacity to seat half the town and that space is completely used. Nonetheless the seating is spacious and you donât feel overwhelmed by the crowdiness. If your party is 3 or more, it seems best to book a table, although we were 5 and got a table for lunch immediately. The food is good and consistent, mainly Belgian traditional courses. Staff is very friendly and correct. Itâs amazing how the whole business runs like a smooth machine. It was a lovely experience.

Close to Bastogne you find this restaurant situated in a little village.Friendly welcome.Nice modern and clean ambiente.Excellent and innovative food well combined and tasty.Different choices of pre-set menus. Can recommend the 55 Euro one with wine pairing for 30 Euros.Be prepared to discover also special finds, for example one of the complimentary "amuses bouche" was grilled grashopper.... it was prepared ready to eat (no legs, no wings) and very crisp with a taste that reminds you of grilled nuts!Special mention for the "Irish coffee" which was served "selon les règles de l'art".Looking forward to come back :)Advanced table reservation is a good idea.

Great steaks and bernaise sauce and functional service (restaurant closed Tuesday & Wednesday) with reasonable prices. Bastogne does not really have any great restaurants what they do have is functional food outlets. This restaurant offers probably the best option in Bastogne but do not expect any romantic evening in any of the restaurants we have visited over the last 15 years in the town.

Great Restaurant. Ate here 3X. Steak cooked on a stone was the best.
tracked this gem down based on Tripadvisor reviews. Not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and handled our minimal language skills with ease. Food was fresh and fantastic. Eclectic decor and the clientele was a real mix, families, tourists of all ages, couples and friends. Great atmosphere.
