Soul and slow food. Traditional restaurant and crêps. Tea room also all along the afternoon Old typical objects and antics for sale
We lunched today in Autun and although it was searingly hot outside, the wonderful cool of St Georges beckoned. Ludovic, our host was charming and coped admirably with The Blonde's allergy to lactose, conjuring up lovely food, prepared and served in style.Sadly we were the only guests on this very hot day; Ludovic and his lovely restaurant deserved better.

I had the escargot salad, and the dressing and salad vegies went all the way through - not just on top of a heap of lettuce. My husband's nicoise was likewise excellent. It was raining so staff were very busy, but the gent looking after us was excellent - he always kept an eye on tables and didn't stop.

Reviewers who call this 'the best dining in Autun' can't be far wrong. We ate breakfasts and major meals here over several days...and not for lack of having other choices. Travelers and plenty of local people choose to dine here. The dining room(s) are spacious and cheerful, light-filled venues. Table linens are of good quality and the food is very, very good. Fresh and local with solid contemporary more than 'imaginative' recipes dominate the menus. Prices are moderate and the wine list does credit to the region.

We've been here for to eat a little snack outside the normal dinner time and we would say it could not be better. Delicious galettes au sarasin, very good cider and a nice service made us feel welcome. Thats how good and modern restaurant service works!

We were recomended this restaurant by our local host Phillipe. He couldn't have been more spot on with his views. The starters, mains and puddings were all superb. I can't write about individual meals as the four of us all (all men) had pretty different meals. We were however four very satisfied customers when we left. Point to note is there is no English menu but with a bit of our pigeon french, spanish, English, sign language and a decent iphone translator we cracked it. Wonderful restaurant. Wonderful meals.

After checking TA reviews, we came here to have lunch. They offer a 16 Euro lunch-deal (which we didn't take), but nevertheless our lunch/déjeuner was very good.We enjoyed local/Burgundy specials: planche-apéro (with pâté, Morvan ham&cheese... and much more), snails with garlic butter were also delicious, Boeuf Bourgignon was tasty&well spiced, servings are good.Nice open wine/"pichet", white, red, rosé. Service was caring and friendly.

Have been lunching at LeChateaubriant for many years and felt a review was dueIt is a traditional French commercial restaurant, usually packed with a mix of business and leisure clientsThe food is delicious, not avant garde just straightforward simple dishes, the veg is always perfectly cooked and the menu de jour lunch at 16.90 euros is a bargainI don't think in 20 years we have had a bad experienceHighly recommended

The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is small with interesting decorations and an open kitchen. The menu is mostly seafood. Everything we ordered was good.As a bonus, the couple at the next table were good after dinner companions.

It's not easy to take one's breath away, especially if you're a foodie and passionate cook yourself. But the guys of comptoire rocked it. The flavours are one of a kind, nicely presented and the service fast and friendly. Especially the starter (fish carpaccio) was amazing. But also the pork and fish maincourse were outstanding. Sadly there is no place to sit outside, but yet from the windows you get the view on the majestic cathedral. You shouldn't miss this experience!
