on every occasion, food was great, inventive, refined (one mystery egg will last long in our memory...). Service is outstanding, making you feel warm and welcomed. We had the opportunity to come twice this year, off peak and it was one of the best meals of the year, and by far the best on the island for a long time. The place is very cosy and perhaps more appropriate outside the summer months. As it is tiny, booking is hugely recommended during the seasons

Dear Monsieur / Madam You have a great location, right on the Quay side, in a lovely French fishing village. You advertise 12 (local) oysters for 19 euros. We come to your restaurant: (1) we are kept standing by the entrance, waiting to be seated. (2) After 3 minutes, we choose a table ourselves and sit down. (3) Then we wait for 10 minutes until we get the attention of the waiter. (4) We ask for 12 oysters and a bottle of white wine (40 euros) but are told we have to also order dessert. (5) I say actually we only want the oysters and wine. She makes a face but eventually the oysters arrive. What have we leant from this experience? The oysters were fabulous, fresh and zingy. As good as any oyster I've ever tasted. But why was the service so, well, un-French? At the end, ms perhapsthistime had to be very assertive to get l'addition. The oysters were amazing, the service was very average.

Well, you'd expect great seafood on an island off the Atlantic coast of France and L'Ocean didn't disappoint. I had the assiette de fruits de mer, which included all sorts of lovely shellfish, including sea snails, mussels, prawns and other goodies. Then had the moules marinier with pommes frites, which was also fantastic. Service was good and it was nice being outside.

This place seems quite unusual in its approach to eating and drinking. I find French restaurants a bit daunting much of the time. I donât eat meat and thereâs often not a lot of choice, with the best-value menus full of meat dishes. This place seems to acknowledge that not everyone wants to sit down to 2 or 3 courses at lunch. Some might want a plate of cheese, others a few snacky things .. maybe someone else only wants a glass of wine and something salty with it . HOORAY for le Tour de Senechal. I love it here. They do great coffee, the interior is spectacularly gorgeous and the staff are v nice. The view outside is also great. Why arenât there more places like this in France?

Great spot fort dinner - the staff is lovely and attentionate, they really go out of their way to make the dinner a success (contrary to many other restaurants on the island). Food is great - the Chaudrée charentaise is excellent ! All in all a fab place and great spot with a view on the marais salants !

A lovely interior situated by the romantique harbour of Ars en Re. Some excellent food mixed with courses that had not been really tasted before serving. The service was sometimes great and sometimes none existent. For the price that was paid the overall experience was average so work to be done

I visited Au Gouter Breton for lunch while spending a wonderful day cycling on the Ile de Ré. This delightful little place serves delicious galettes, and is run by friendly, kind, genuine people. There are more elaborate restaurants down near the quayside, but this café would be my choice for a tasty snack (savoury or sweet galette fillings, main course and dessert, both yummy) at a very reasonable price, in cosy, unpretentious surroundings. There are crepes too, of course, but with my wheat intolerance the galettes were a godsend. Authentic and highly recommended!

I had a delicious vegan meal here. Although the options are limited, there is a vegan starter, main and desert which were all delicious; the highlight was the dessert which was a vegan panna cotta. There are also lots of meat and fish options which my parents enjoyed. The garden is lovely, and itâs a really serene area of Ars-en-Ré

In the fine decor of a 17th century style dining room, delight in an intimate gastronomic dinner at La Table d'Olivia. The restaurant welcomes a maximum of twenty guests each evening for a unique culinary experience. Here, you will enjoy a refined and aut
From start to finish an excellent experience. A small but impeccable dining room offers the most refined dining experience in St Martin. The cooking here easily surpasses several Michelin starred restaurants we have visited recently and I'm sure the guide must surely be thinking awarding one here. What we liked was a respect for the ingredients. Top produce with seasonality in mind and then cooked to perfection with a restraint not to add unnecessary garnishes. We also shared a bottle of the hotel's own wine Chateau Clarisse Vielle Vignes 2015 which is new Chateau to me. What a lovely bottle. Already drinking superbly I can say quality to price ratio it is somewhat of a bargain. Until next year! Dear Madam, Dear Sir, I am delighted to read your kind words, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at La Table dâOlivia.Thrilled to read that you appreciated the cuisine of our Chef Thibault Peyroche. We take care about choosing and cooking local and seasonal products.
