Loved this informal "hut" on the beach selling delicious moules. My personal favourite are the "moules campagnardes" flavoured with onions, creamed leeks and white wine. Two 500g portions of musssels, two portions of fries and two beers for approx EUR 30. Help yourself to bread and make your own bread basket - a nice touch!

Notre brasserie, la Popote du marché, située à Angoulins, vous prépare de vrais plats comme à la maison, sur place, ou à emporter avec nos popot'box.
Right next to the best deli/supermarket I have yet seen in provincial France, La Popote has a smallish outside eating area (full that day) on a wooden deck next to a small parking area off a busy road. Great for summer lunches, but in cooler weather, there are plenty of tables plus a bar inside (which we didn't explore on that warm late summer day!). The menu is fairly basic, but well presented (see photos, the waitresses are friendly and scurry about efficiently, taking orders and delivering food on spotless plates. Waiting times are short, no doubt appreciated by the French clientele who have limited time away from work. There are set 2 course and 3 course meals at â¬12 and â¬14 respectively and a selection of other dishes. Great value and would happily recommend for an adequate light lunch.Open from 09h00 to 19h30 6 days a week..Hello, thank you for your comment. The quality of our dishes, the customer service and the quality / price ratio of the assets of our restaurant. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Absolutely first class fresh seafood served simply. Pleasant service, short but very appealing menu and simple surroundings. My only quibble was that a couple of my langoustines were over cooked. Otherwise perfect.

Situé en plein cÅur de Châtelaillon-Plage, Restaurant convivial et familial, cuisine faite de produits frais ! à vos fourchettes !!!
This restaurant was recommended to us as a good place to eat in this beachside town. It is a very small restaurant with tables quite close together, as is typical in France. If you like to hear your neighborsâ conversation, then this is just fine. If not, try something else. The waiting staff was very friendly, but there was nothing special about the food we were served. I did like the flavor of the scallop risotto as the starter, but the scallops were undercooked and the dish was warm, not hot. My husband liked his lamb stew and my ray cassolette was tasty, but not exceptional. I made a mistake in choosing two dishes that were too similar. Not enough color, texture or flavor contrast, and no crunchy veggies. I certainly would not discourage anyone from eating here, but I probably wouldnât come a second time.

We visited during a one-night stay at Angoulins. Two factors influenced our decision; TripAdvisor and its proximity to our B&B hotel. We weren't disappointed, great food, friendly service and honest pricing. Our personal thanks to Samuel, Vianney and Sylvie for a great meal. Highly recommended.Thank you and see yoo soon. It was a pleasure for me to make you happy.

Been there table of 7, 3 adults, 4 children.Sat outside and it was perfect. The owner is very friendly (in a French way of being friendly) and the food was delicious. Wine selection is decent. Definitely a spot you would consider if you want to avoid crowded areas of la rochelle.
