Fantastic place on the river, furnished very well with simplicity and refinement. Staff very kind, courteous and helpful: very careful to allergies and intolerances! Really great food, with fresh fish and well cooked! Excellent value for money. Adjacent parking. Absolutely recommended!!!

We pass by this restaurant nearly everyday, and it is always full at lunchtime. One day, my husband and I stopped in to see if we could have lunch. We were asked if we had a reservation, and we said, "No". We were kindly told that they were sorry, but they were full (complete). We vowed that we would make a reservation one of these days....and today was the day! There are maybe 15 tables in the entire restaurant. Typical of a lot of restaurants in Angers....hence the need for a reservation. The menu was in a plexiglass holder on the table....not a fancy way to present it, but considering the space, it made sense to do it this way. Two formulas were offered.....entrée + plat (15â¬) or entrée + plat + dessert (21â¬). Three choices were offered in each category, and everything sounded appealing. For the entrée, my husband ordered the trout carpaccio, and I ordered the warm goat cheese and chorizo salad.....both were fantastic. The flavours in both dishes were unusual and delicious. Continuing with the plats, my husband ordered the fish from the market, and I ordered the veal sauté.....again very savoury and wonderful sauces on both. We ended up sopping up the remaining sauce with our baguette pieces....so good.We were considering dessert, but we were so content, that we hated to overindulge. However, we did have coffee, which was the perfect way to end the meal.Neither of us likes to drink wine at lunch, so I cannot rate their wine list.Overall, an excellent lunch for 30â¬. We will be making another reservation in the future!

My galette of ham, cheese, and mushrooms was the best I've ever had. The galette was thin and crispy and had a great buttery flavor. The dessert crepe of chocolate and banana was as good as any I've had elsewhere. For the reviewer who claims there are no toilets, I have to say I am perplexed. They are right inside the door. If you can't find a toilet in a restaurant, just ask. The wait staff is always happy to direct you in the right direction.

I never thought I'd say any restaurant used too little salt, but that actually seemed to be the case here, especially in the seafood appetizer. The chicken breast was among the best I've tasted, as was the carrot accompanying it! This is cooking that lays forth good ingredients, unadorned but correctly prepared. Interesting wines, excellent service, friendly atmosphere.

This new restaurant offers a 9-course tasting menu with extra-nice surprises along the way. Tucked into an intimate neighborhood near central Angers, it offers a modern contrast against nearby medieval buildings and neighborhoods. The price will surely increase as this restaurant becomes better known, but for the time being may be the best bargain I've ever experienced on top of being what I believe will become a well-known foodie destination on its own. Can't give it a higher recommendation.

I had a wonderful experience at La Rue Sauvage. It is a small farm to table type restaurant with many of it's ingredients being organic and locally sourced from neighboring farms. Each meal had a flavor theme, where all the dishes incorporated the flavor profiles. One of the flavor profiles was coffee, and I believe the other was a root vegetable similar to rhubarb. The type of food is Fine Dining, but the decor has a lovely country/rustic feel. The price could easily be double or triple and be worth it. Everything we had was delicious.

This little Japanese-French restaurant (max 14 people) serves heavenly, fresh food - seated around the open kitchen while watching the chef build a masterpiece of savory dishes using dance-like mouvements..one can see the passion & love he has for his work - excellent fine cuisine - different tastes present in the variety of dishes proposed - combination of smoked foie gras with gravlax salmon and mushrooms// spinach, asparagus & shrimp bisque // tender angus beef pumpkin potato & morel sauce // crispy melted chocolate crunch as dessertâ- accompanied by very tasty red wineThe great thing about this concept: strangers present naturally start talking to each other as the dinner continues - international spirit - countries represented around our table that evening (counting chef Kazumi): Japan, Russia, Italy, France, Belgium â- and we all had an excellent evening and a good laugh Thanks!

Despite being extremely busy, the waiter looked after us well. It was cold outside so we appreciated being inside out of the wind. The red velvety chairs add to the 'theatre' feel.Sorry you are not on the right page, we are a little restaurant in Angers with dark leather chairs⦠Could you delete your comment please?
