We had missed the cog train up to Leysin on a Sunday evening, so we wandered into Aigle and found this place open...not many places were open...and asked the waitress if we could get a drink...Cardinal beer in a handsome etched glass mug...my girl friend suggested frites...we got an enormous bowl of blazing hot frites for 6 SFR. Great way to kill an hour.

This small restaurant offers a range of burgers and bagels. The burgers were presented on a trendy slate plate with "skin-on" fries and miniature dishes of tortilla chips, salsa and olives. The burgers tasted good as well as being fashionably presented. Soft drinks and coffee are available. You can watch the food preparation as it is in an open area; generally a sign of confidence in the hygiene standards. The restaurant was busy, with people eating in and frequent callers to collect takeaways. The prices were very reasonable for Switzerland, only slightly more expensive than the well-known burger chains but much nicer. Other restaurants in this location have not lasted long; I hope this one keeps going!

Country restaurants in Switzland can be hit or miss. This one is certainly "Hit": Fresh, market cuisine with excellent meats from the in-house butchers. The menu is fun. The "Liberté et Patrie" dish takes its name from the motto on the flag of the local Canton and consists of a great variety of local sausages, whilst the "Tartar Roestigraben" is a fun visualization (or should I say "gastronomyzation") of the supposed divide between the German and French speaking areas of the country...

The Market Restaurant of Aigle welcomes you in a typical and good atmosphere, for a good meal or a party with friends. The restaurant is full of history and is a must in the Aigle city. You will discover the typical flavors of the region with a wide choic
Goodness ... rarely have I had a meal that I was so disappointed with but which cost so much. Croutes aux champignons is a dish, eating frequently in a certain Swiss heritage Cafe Tea Room in Yorkshire Iâm aware of, but this it was not. A slab of bread with, what tasted like a packet-mix mushroom sauce on top was a disappointment which could, perhaps, have been accepted as no more than an unlucky choice had it not been for the crème brûlée desert. âCâest tres chaudâ said the waitress as she presented the refrigerated and flash-grilled saucer. Sadly what she didnât say it was lumpy too before turning the lights on and off to indicate âleave, because weâre closingâ and a bill that, even in Switzerland, was eye-watering. Shall I return? Nope.

This little restaurant has a beautiful outdoor terrace with a great view on the mountains of Chablais. It has a lovely rural feeling with its herb garden, and is a perfect stop when walking around Aigle or visiting the Château. We had a delicious lunch with an excellent local wine, and unlike other TripAdvisor visitors, had no complaint about speed of service. The waiter was efficient and courteous, and though all other diners were seated inside, he made a point of paying us regular visits to ensure we were doing all right. We were! It was a delightful break from our mountain hike.

This is one of the few truly modern places in Aigle if a bit out of town. Food is good but very little if no choice for veggies. On my initial visit it was very quiet and we were well looked after. My last visit we waited 20 minutes to order a drink and had to keep waving at the staff when we needed anything as they never came over. I will go back when I'm not in a rush!

We had dinner there in October 2013 and went back the other day. Could not complain...they are maintaining their high standards, the service is very friendly and Alexandre and Ana continue to take pride in what they have to offer. Conveniently located in Aigle with parking available too outside the restaurant.

A few minutes away from the center and from the station of Aigle, in a quiet zone. With a rustic decoration in the former (old), a full-flavored and joyful cuisine. Desire to burst you? Then be unable to resist us melted in the meat accompanied with a tra
Ambiance très sympathique de ce restaurant de quartier. Service attentionné quelque soit le choix de plats. Plat du jour de cuisine bourgeoise très correct et abondant. Choix à la carte varié. Carte des vins très honnête

The restaurant is smartly decorated since its renovation a couple of years ago. The staff were welcoming. The menu changes with the seasons and is generally French/Swiss traditional dishes, but the presentation is very imaginative and modern; slates, elongated plates, jars and baskets. Of the dishes we had, the food itself had not been « re-imagined » which for me was excellent. Iâm not a fan of classics with a twist, in my opinion the true classics are best left alone. The meal was top quality and the evening was an enjoyable experience. I have scored the restaurant 4 rather than 5 as it is a little more expensive than average even allowing for Swiss prices. However, you can see the prices on the menu outside so itâs not a surprise. Two people having a starter and main course with a bottle of local wine and coffees came to just over 200 CHF. If you want a cheaper option, the Happy Days burger bar next door is part of the same business and shares a kitchen.

Loud voices at the bar. Dark wood. Local atmosphere. But definitely cosy. Details and attention. Not an ordinary bistrot at all. Impressive blackboard : Red-cabbage velouté with pheasant, Wild-boar rack, Assiette valaisanne (generous choice of local meat & cheese). And a delicious dessert called Dessert de Maman (the latter standing for the owner's mother, originally from Brittany) : a melting delicacy served with salt butter caramel. Not to be missed !
