A sunny day and a pleasant walk around the Clifton Hill area. I do like how the bridges allow entry and exit from the Trail enabling people to build the right sized adventure. I love the bridge at Rushall railway station where the Capital City Trail joins the Merri Creek one.

Yarra Bend Park is Melbourne's largest natural bushland park. Enjoy the leafy grounds and abundant wildlife while strolling or biking its many trails. Stop for a picnic, walk your dog or play a round of golf. Hire a canoe at historic Studley Park Boathouse, paddle upstream, and spot flying foxes. Explore the wild river escarpments, open woodlands, formal parklands and sports fields of Yarra Bend Park. Set out on the Dights Falls Walk and discover the site of a former asylum, the river red gum dominated landscape of Galatea Point, Deep Rock and of course, the iconic Dights Falls. Arguably the park's best known feature, the artificial weir was built in the 1840s to provide water to the Ceres Flour Mill, one of the first in Victoria.
Took a family picnic to Bellbird picnic area by the river on Christmas Day. Bats were much more active than usual during the day, but at 38 degrees I'm not surprised. I love this place, especially at dusk when they all fly. Magical.

Just four kilometres from Melbourne's CBD, its 11 historic buildings, gardens and car park are spread over 6.8 Hectares in a sweeping bend in the Yarra River and are surrounded by the Collingwood Children's Farm and Yarra Bend Park. With a focus on creativity, culture and learning the Convent is now home to over 100 artist studios and offices for small businesses, a radio station, four eateries, an open air cinema, food and craft markets, two galleries, an extensive program of events and venues for rehearsals, performances, classes, workshops and conferences.
Such a refreshing place to relax and wonder around tucked away within easy access and short walk from public transport. I walked along thw Yarra trail and wondered around through the farm into the main compound. There arw several dining options taking care of varying tastes and budgets which were all very busy. Lentil as Anyhthing serves delicious meals based on an open menu and seasonal produce. Convent Bakery serves delicious bread, pastries, sandwiches etc. and the farm cafe also offer picnic packs. You can wonder around the expansive gardens and relax in this wonderful oasis.

The National Hotel is now the new republic for the people of Richmond. A place for people to come together in their own community - where the architecture, like the staff, is proud to serve.
Spent Sunday evening at this Pub with Asian and international flavours. I really wish they lose the burgers on this menu as the Asian food is so beautiful, you just want more of it. Ambiance, gas fire, dog friendly sooo good. Staff excellent, all round excellent.

As one of the original Brunswick Street Cocktail bars, Polly aims to captivate, inspire and excite Melbourne, the same way it did when its doors opened over a 20 years ago. Using unique recipes which have been put together by Polly's very own bartenders, and with decor taken from the boudoirs of 1920's Paris, Polly aims to give you a truly one of a kind experience. Polly stocks a wide selection of local and international craft beers, spirits and wines, along with unique lists of Absinthe and cigars. For a non-alcoholic alternative we craft exquisite mocktails suited to your taste.
We had the most amazing celebration in the upstairs function room with a trendy „Speakeasy“ feel. You have your own private, self contained space, with the added bonus of access to the downstairs cocktail bar. Everything was PERFECT. Planning ran super smooth with Michael. Every question answered and lots of services offered (screens for slide show, sound system for your own play list, juke box). Absolutely brilliant set up for any function of 40-60 people. Used the bar tab option with tap beers/ciders, selection of wine/sparkling. Guests of various ages were all raving about every detail. We catered ourselves with grazing platters which worked really well. A massive thank you to the entire team at Polly for looking after everyone so well. We will be recommending you far and wide ????

We have visited this park a few times recently on our visits to Melbourne to see our toddler grandson. It's a perfect park for all ages - two lovely playgrounds for little; two skateboard arenas, one small one for beginning children; plenty of grass and trees for picnics; tennis and basketball courts; and plenty of paths for prams and people with canes and walkers.
