Take a short stroll or horse tram ride over the wooden causeway that connects the mainland at Victor Harbor to Granite Island Recreation Park. Enjoy the coastal scenery and discover the island's interesting history along the Kaiki Walk or go fishing from the jetty, or causeway (no fishing from breakwater). You may even spot a southern right whale between June and October.
Granite Island was a highlight to visit in Victor Harbour. There is a designated walking trail, great views, sculptures and it is an easy walk, about 40 minutes or longer if you capture everything and take your time. Just do it it is so worth it.

This wild, untamed, magnificent coastal region, is within 11 km driving distance from Victor Harbor. This is a patrolled conservation park where one can enjoy bird watching e.g. migrating Terns on the shore; kangaroos just inland around the camping area. Fishermen do occasionally try their luck, but the surf is very dangerous and swimming is definitely not advised. Peaceful and quiet.

In February this was a very quiet route, with few other cyclists and little traffic on adjoining roads so very safe and relaxing. Great views of the sea and interesting and viewing varied holiday homes from the path. Options to ride as far as you want. Options to stop in Victor Harbour or Port Elliott for drinks/ refreshments/ shopping. Port Elliot offers interesting heritage information and sites too. Route well maintained and signed.

These ladies are just wonderful. So helpful, knowledgeable, caring and attentive. I want to marry them all and take them home. Thanks so much for your help with accommodation, things to do, things to see, and in particular...places to eat.

South Australians for the past approx. 150 years’ have been visiting and appreciating Granite Island and now people from the world over make the effort to visit. This walk has the most idyllic outlooks all over the island and the views of the Southern Ocean just make you feel alive. A bonus is the gentle cardio workout being healthy, combined with the clean pure air about you.

You can walk or cycle for hundreds of kms along these wonderful well maintained pathways. Taking in the coastline and countryside - they go from Adelaide down to Victor Harbour and across to Cape Jervis. Absolutely amazing views along the southern coastline just to the west of The Bluff in Victor Harbour. Don't forget to take a leisurely walk up to The Bluff (its not difficult ). Park closeby and walk up a few steps and gravel paths...well worth it. Also, walk across to Granite Island and take the easy 45 minite walk around this little island. Toilets are on the east of the island and a cafe is evidently open in the mornings till just after lunch. You could take the horse drawn tram for $10 return...
