A simple, there-and-back dog walk taking in Newark Park house and grounds. Just follow the Cotswold Way out of the village. A fairly steep climb through woods and up a track before branching off across fields to arrive at Newark's car park area. A modest entry fee gets you into the grounds (a welcome tea/coffee room with outside seating) where there's a choice of three, marked walks affording views and a chance to talk to the lambs. The gardens of the house are delightful and it's worth popping in to the house itself (leave the dogs outside). We spent the best part of a day out as the weather was glorious. The return, downhill, walk is much quicker, retracing our steps and taking in a path along side the stream and back into Valley Road. A very pleasant way to appreciate the English countryside and take in a little bit of history, too. Recommended!

Fifi's Fancy Furniture was created to indulge my passion for all things beautiful. It was a way of combining my life long interest in design, furniture, colour, texture, upcycling, recycling and revamping furniture and artifacts that would sit well in traditional or contemporary settings alike. We are official stockists of The Frenchic Furniture Paint. We offer Beginner and advanced furniture painting courses and bookable drop in painting sessions.

The Museum in the Park is set in the beautiful grounds of Stratford Park in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Situated in a Grade II listed 17th Century wool merchant’s house; our collection tells the fascinating story of the Stroud District’s rich and diverse history. With over 4,000 objects on display, including dinosaur bones, historical paintings and even one of the world’s first lawnmowers, there is something to spark the interest of all of our visitors! In addition to the main displays in the mansion house, we have our modern extension which houses a small gift shop and café area, alongside a modern, purpose-built art gallery showing a varied programme of exhibitions. Behind this is Stroud’s ‘secret garden’ - a contemporary Walled Garden that will amaze and may well cause you to say 'wow'!
We read about a craft fair being held in Stratford Park so decided to pay them a visit a good job we did as we came across the museum. When we went in it was absolutely magic and as we are in our 60s it brought back a lot of memories, well worth a visit. There is a lift which was very handy as I am partially disabled and struggle with stairs, on certain days there is a pop up cafe in the garden and can be accessed via a gentle winding ramp.

Lovely walk round the grounds with the family. Way walking but a bit muddy at times. The odd rope swing and seesaw to keep the children happy

We visited on a sunny day. The grounds were lovely in the sunshine and walking through all the yew trees was fun. The interior of the church wasn't particularly spectacular but the people were smiley as we went in (I think they had just finished a service).

A great Saturday morning market, taking place almost every Week in Stroud. With a bustling lively vibe there's lots of good quality local produce on offer, ranging from eggs, dairy & cheeses, fruit & veg, meat, cakes, craft beers etc. There are often stalls with work from local crafts people such as potters, jewelers, handmade soaps & toiletries etc. There are also a range of street food sellers too if you don't feel like one of the many local cafes.

Great views after a long climb from Painswick but well worth it. The views are magnificent on a clear day you can see across Gloucester and see Wales which is over 100km.
