St. Ives boasts a quartet of golden-sand beaches. Sheltered coves draw swimmers and sun-worshippers, but water-sports aficionados visit St. Ives for great surfing, windsurfing and water-skiing conditions. And on your way there, keep your eyes peeled for a dude with seven wives. You never know when nursery rhymes might come true.

A favorite place for a family outing, this lovely stretch of beach overlooks Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance.
Excellent beach with a weekly (Tuesday) open air cinema across summer, we watched an afternoon showing of The Greatest Showman - thoroughly enjoyed it. Showings sell out quickly so book in advance to avoid disappointment. VIP tickets best, include popcorn, Gin or soft drink and deck chairs at the front. However, seating was provided for standard tickets and you could get pretty near the front if you arrived early.

This short 0.6 mile walk on the South West Coast Path has great views across St Ives Bay, and out to the lighthouse on Godrevy Island just off shore. Children will love the long beach, as well as the island and the lighthouse and the tales of shipwrecks. A good walk in spring, when the coastal grasslands are full of wildflowers and fulmars nest noisily in the cliffs.
Fantastic site. Lovely staff on the car park who happily showed us how to use the garmin devices for the geocaching and the kids loved it..

Beautiful place! Not overly commercial- quaint little place with a cafe and toilets near the beach! Parking at the train station, with a short walk down a very steep hill to the most beautiful beaches!! Will defiantly be coming back next year!! The below picture has no filters... it’s like being abroad Here!!!

A very peaceful place with a beautiful view of Porthmeor Beach. It was very interesting the headstones and of some of the people buried here. Some were Master Mariners, where others had served in the wars, especially one of Mary Gyles Andrews whom served in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force. The surname ‘Carbines’ featured very heavily here so presumably this family name is heavily associated with St. Ives. The beautiful gravestone of the late Artist, Alfred Wallis, was also lovely to look at.

When you walk down the high street in St Ives, you come to what was an island. Lovely place for a walk with great views, a lookout station and an ancient chapel (which was unfortunately closed for renovations). There is a path, with some steep steps at the lookout station end, that goes right round the island and takes you back into town. There a plenty of benches so you can just enjoy the views and the sound of the sea.

What a stunning dog friendly beach, few little caves to explore, lovely and quiet, shells to collect. Watching the tide go out is amazing as it creates lots of little sand banks. No toilet facilities, shops or cafes which is brilliant as it means it doesn’t get busy. Brilliant for the kids too to build sandcastles, have a dip in the sea and just be kids. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful quiet dog friendly beach. Will definitely be back.
