Majorka was for me very underestimate destination - I thought that this island is only for beach loafers. That was really big mistake! This was our second trip only on foot and I can recommend it to everyone who is not beginner and who has some experiences. We went from Sant Elm to Soller (+- 85 km), track was hard because of bad rainy weather, so it was dangerous - dry stones changed to wet and every step was like going on soap floor. There was no chance how to finished GR221, even bus from Lluc was stopped because of wheater. So we moved to San Picaford (eastern coast) and there we started GR 222, which is no less beautiful and wheater there was better (+- 55 km). People there are pleasant, nature very very beautiful, food excellent, accommodation very various in comfort and also prices, we tried everything from sleeping outside to 4* superb hotel - each way was magnificent. Thumbs up for Majorka :)

Marbella Old Town

This old neighborhood is full of romance, with narrow, winding cobblestone streets: great for evening strolls.

Reviewed By Hermes_NL - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Marbella is not just a glitzy beach town but also an highly historic city dating back to the times of the Moors. The old town is choc full of character with the old fortifications, narrow streets, colorful churches, little chapels, lively squares, and of course many restaurants and shops. Very much worthwhile to go to essentially every day during your Marbella stay.

Basilica de Nuestra Senora del Pilar

Breathtaking, Awe-Inspiring, Magnificent, these are just a few words to describe this Amazing Cathedral!!! From the statuary to the artwork, the pews to the ceilings, I was at a loss for words!! This Church still holds services and I was lucky enough to be there to observe and pray, and though the service was in Spanish it was a beautiful and spiritual experience. Inside, a Roman-style pillar is topped by a statue of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus that dates from the fifteenth century. It is housed in a chapel of marble, jasper, and gilded bronze that forms almost a church-within-a-church. You can also go to the back of the chapel, where people can kneel and kiss the pillar itself. It is a must see for anyone!!

Cathedral De Santiago de Compostela

Reviewed By PilatesLady58 - Norwich, United Kingdom

The cathedral is an incredible building with its impressive baroque facade and is the culmination for some of a long journey along the Camino to reach Santiago. At the moment it’s best viewed from the outside only as there is major restoration work going on for holy year in 2021 when the work will be completed. It’s still worth visiting the cathedral museum which has some interesting artworks on display. You can also access the cloister and get views out over the square by the cathedral to the surrounding countryside. I’m sure it will be amazing when it’s done but currently the interior is literally a building site!

Playa de Maspalomas

Reviewed By SebP_AnnaB - Brussels, Belgium

The Dunes and Beach of Maspalomas are a surprising sight and something not seen every day. Get lost in the dramatic sweeping dunes, walking along their crest of in the valleys between only to find before you a beautiful beach with inviting waters, even in December I was able to spend 45 minutes in the water! Key Points: 1) Bring Sunblock and Water. Not a lot of shade in the area and you don't want to wait for hours in lines a the drink shacks. 2) Dunes are gorgeous and fun. Have fun, try running down the dunes and jumping by the edge! 3) Be careful of the rip-tide. Maspalomas beach is a place where currents intersect. On some days the riptide is enough to carry you away even if you're in knee-high water. 4) Not a nude beach, specifically. But plenty of nude people. However, people are comfortable is how they do the beach there.
