Took a drive out to the Pointe, parked on the roadside and then climbed along the well made path to the tip - Great views and lovely to see - Amazing seeing the Rock formations in the Cliff and then afterwards, checking out the Rock Pools and fish! We tried the Coconut Ice Cream for the first time there - It was Gorgeous - No Alcohol and really refreshing! - you really do need to try it whenever you see them mixing it by the roadside lay-by's

Guadeloupe has endless beaches and we went to a different one each day till we discovered Anse a la Gourde. As you enter the parking area, turn left and park at the far end and you will have a private lovely oasis to spend the day. There is a very nice restaurant opposite Chez Honore for a nice beach lunch.

I liked that beach. The beach was light brown. There were trees at that gave shade. Many swam in the ocean. We had a great view on the mountains. There was even a sailing boat nearby. Lots of people come here. I know why. What a great beach!

The best market we went to in Guadeloupe (and there are a lot of them). Helped by the fact that you can mostly stay out of the sun (or rain), and also by there being much more variety of stalls than in the others we visited - lots of spices and fruit but also clothing and jewellery. Also helped by the stallholders being really generous - letting you sample the food, adding extras once we had purchased. Well worth a visit.

The nicest night market from Guadeloupe, on Tuesday, from 17h to 19h30. More than 70 stands with a large range of fruits, local souvenirs, spices, take away kreyol's food and much more.
On Tuesday evenings you must hit this marche. It is packed with vendors selling clothing, bijoux, food and other island delicacies. You can shop for souvenirs and dinner and feel the island/tourist experience.

Located on the touristic road, two kilometers from the protected site of the Pointe des Châteaux, the "Village Artisanal"(Craft village) opened its doors in March 2013.Its concept is unique in Guadeloupe, it aims to become the benchmark for local crafts, with the aim to collect and highlight a craft panel.
