Family winery funded in 1639, we're located in Riquewihr, in the heart of Alsace. Our wines are often referred to as classic and elegant.
We have been lucky enough to attend many tastings around the world, not least the five we enjoyed during our recent visit to Alsace. This one to Hugel was one of the best. A good range of excellent wines was offered and Loic Faure our host was knowledgeable, interesting and happy to speak English or French. Consequently we ended up buying more than we intended. We had made an appointment for our visit which is always to be recommended.

In this village, you can find amazing streets, a lot of typical food shops, souvenir shops and a Christmas shoo which is opened the all year (but is quite expensive). There are also several places for the wine tasting and where you can also buy wine. There are a lot of restaurants but most of the time you can't reserve a table /!\ It's quite difficult to park and it's not free most of the time. For a free parking, it's better to go in the bottom of the village. During Christmas time, there is a Christmas market. Around the village, it's full of vineyard.

This shop is incredible! You can buy bags of assorted prepackaged biscuits, or you can mix and match the ones you want and pay by the weight. The staff spoke very good English, but were patient with my husband and I practicing our French. The biscuits are so tasty, and the beignets are a true delight. Definitely drop in!

This is a fascinating, large shop with an amazing array of things to buy related to Christmas. the story behind the shop also is very powerful. My understanding is that an American GI saw a few toys that the founder had created and encouraged her to open a story after World War II. She did and has been enormously successful. The shop is on a couple of levels. You can walk through. the range of things available is incredible - and some of the things are real treasures. Strongly recommended. If this is useful, please indicate so below.

This is like walking into a story book. We did a Christmas Market river cruise and this by far was our favorite town! Out of all the markets, this one took credit cards in some cases, in addition, it had different and unique items. After awhile a lot of the markets started to look alike. It's historical and gorgeous at the same time. It's a definite must if you haven't been. People were coming from all over to visit this little place.

We popped in to have a look at this shop and to try some of their wines. A great experience, great value wines some of which are pre boxed in gift sets, a great idea. Parking is poor in the area but the lovely young lady who served us offered to close the shop and carry some of our purchases to our car for us. Fantastic customer service, would that happen in England, doubt it. Well worth a visit
