This is a quite unique point to visit which tells you about the past volcanic activity o the island, with unique geometric lava formations and nice views of the ocean and the golf course nearby. Easily accessible by car or by foot.

The free pick-up service worked very well and brought us from INATEL PORTO SANTO Hotel to the southern cape restaurant. We had a very good time here, dinner was: fish soup, with lots of wild tuna, grilled tuna with fried corn cubes, pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream. It’s so relaxing this place, good service, and the Planalto white wine was the perfect choice.

Wow,what an amazing place which I didn't know existed until looking for a holiday earlier this year. A very small island so unless you want to lay on a sun bed or the beach every day then a week is probably long enough for most. The Pestana hotels are fabulous. Unless you hire a twiggy and keep to the roads then the jeep trip is a must, takes you places cars can't reach. Some fantastic geology to see and Vila Baleria, although small is worth a visit.
