A little isolated but only a few kilometers from the Sir John Monash Center and definitely worth a visit. Overlooks the village of Le Hamel in what is now an extremely peaceful setting, in WWI it was the end point of the battle. Excellent commentary plaques that describe the tactics of (Gen.) Sir John Monash and the flow of the battle. This was a battle in which coordinated tactics were used extensively for the first time (aircraft, tanks, artillery) and with detailed plans; the battle was over in 93 minutes. Front line trenches still can be seen. We went right after visiting the Monash Center which was quite busy and for the hour we were at the memorial no one else appeared. Sad really as it is a place worth visiting.

The cathedral is a gorgeous example of beautiful gothic architecture...the stain glass alone makes the cathedral worth a visit. Make sure to do a lap around the outside of the cathedral as well, there’s some really neat old timey buildings and homes around the backside! It looks like the cathedral is undergoing some renovations on the inside and along the outside a bit as well, so just a heads up on that. But definitely recommend.

Make sure you go to the park downtown in the center because it is beautiful with impeccably landscaped grounds aesthetically perfect. There is a small waterfall and benches where you can relax. It is a world away from suburban Beauvais! One of the prettiest parks i have ever seen with sublime willows and cypress amidst perfectly lush surrounds.
