Cartolina

The other day I was walking down historical Baker Street in Nelson BC and I walked into this wonderful store Cartolina! They had such cool maps, and my favourite Lucia soaps and amazing candles. I could spend hours looking at all they had to offer, I also LOVED their leather purses. Well stocked, great staff, excellent experience. Way to go Cartolina for capturing such a unique market.

Backroads Brewing Company

A vibrant brewery and taproom located in the very heart the eclectic and wonderful Baker Street. Stop by for a pint, or grab a couple bottles to go!

Centrally located on historic Baker Street in downtown Nelson the pub offers a range of very tasty beers. During our visit pub was strictly observing social distancing guidelines...even longer trestle tables were "filled" if two patrons there. Nice range of beers and fairly priced for a taster flight. Friendly service.

The park was my favorite part of Nelson. The flowers were gorgeous, the walking trail nice, and the beach was a great place to relax and watch those who rented kayaks and paddle boards. Surprised at all the graffitti though.

Head up Gyro Park Road, find the parking lot by the pool and go for the short hike up the lookout point. On a sunny, clear the day the views are amazing.

Great Northern Rail Trail

Reasonably flat grades make it accessible for kids, though be careful of the steep embankments. Trestle makes for some great photo ops.
