San Pablo Catholic Church

Reviewed By KayJazz - Bedford, United States

Being a Catholic we always enjoys visiting churches in all our travels. After reading the reviews we knew this was a 'must 'visit'. We had read about the massive Christmas lights display in the gardens and were very lucky they were still on display in mid-January. We spent over 30 minutes enjoying each little area. It was after 8pm, safe to walk around and feel the presence of peace. As it was late, the church doors were locked. Next time we hope to see the rest of this beautiful church. Blessings.

So incredibly helpful in what to do, when to go, maps, directions, coupons for many things, etc. The lovely lady from Yazoo, MS was so helpful to Dad and me on a tour for us along with a discount coupon for admission to the Hammock we toured. She recommended the perfect tour for us, place for dinner and also a happy hour spot. Best place to get the scoop on what to see in the area

Sombrero Reef

This is a spur-and-groove coral reef, sitting on the outer banks offshore of Vaca Key, characterized by large fingers of coral, separated by narrow sandbeds.

If your in the Keys this is an absolute Snorkeling Paradise. This reef is right on the edge of the barrier reef, and to reach it you catch a boat tour from the Marathon area on Vaca Key. We took Spirit Snorkeling out of Marathon and Captain Mike and Mate Jenna were great. If you have your own boat it is marked by a good size lighthouse so it is easy to find. Lots of mooring pins to tie to. Short boat ride from Captain Pip's Marina.where you can rent a boat reasonable if you choose. We were there around 9:30 am on a Saturday morning and spots were open. By 11 am they were full. Don't cheat yourself and go on a calm day because this reef is great. Visibility and water clarity is very good. We saw tons of parrotfish, from Yellowtail Parrotfish, Princess Parrotfish and Rainbow Parrotfish. We also found Grouper, Yellowtail Snapper, Gray Snapper, nice variety of Angelfish, stingray and my girlfriends favorite(as she squeezed my hand tight) a good size Barracuda. This goes down as one of my best snorkeling adventures.

Old Seven Mile Bridge

This place is temporarily closed, and is being repaired by the Florida DOT. It is scheduled to reopen in 2021. In the Florida Keys, there is no name better known than Henry Flagler who built the world-famous Oversea Railway in the early 1900's. Called the "8th Wonder of the World", this amazing ribbon of steel and concrete forever changed the history of the Florida Keys.

Unfortunately the old bridge was not open on the Marathon end during our most recent vacation but it the perfect morning walk spot. It is one of my favorite spots in the keys that is out of the water.

Keys Fisheries Bar

Reviewed By dtwods - West Bend, United States

We loved Keys Fisheries! Food is awesome! We were there 3 times and tried stone crab, oysters, clams, tuna sashimi, crab & spinach dip, tacos, stone crab chowder, fried oyster sandwiches and loved it all! We bought fish dip from the market and it was the best we had our entire trip! The bartenders are very attentive and know how to work a busy bar! They would also chat with us when they got a spare minute. We were their mid April and it was the best spot we found to watch the sunset. The sunset shot every night was a bonus. Traveling with 2 couples we liked the fact that the upstairs bar is reserved for people 21 and older. Cannot wait to be back!!
